  1. I’ve bought some tulip tuner buttons fron China and they’re horrible. Green! I want the same as are on Klusons. Are the Hipshot the same? I can’t get them here in the UK. Would anyone order/get me a set and post them to me if I transferred the money?
  2. I've tried to get some Hipshot buttons here in the UK but can't.
  3. That fretboard was rough. The most important part of the guitar and it had divots in it. It would have taken ten minutes to remedy it, but no. My 18 Classic was like that, but worse. So it's still a case of luck when you get one. As for the people that say 'just play it'. Would you have a new car or tv with scratches or dents, No.
  4. I agree. Since he's left Norm's I don't watch their video of the day now. I don't like the one that does it. Mark draws you in and will get good (or bad) reactions to his videos and hopefully Gibson will take note. I feel there is a good period of Gibson coming.

2001 LP Special. I bid on it not thinking I'd win. Another in the stable. Plays great though. It certainly fits the 'plays like butter' label. https://imgur.com/gallery/uI5NgKc
  6. Vat is already on the price. That's the price you pay.
  7. What model Grover tuners are shipped with Gibson guitars? I was thinking of changing a set of mine (2018 classic) for locking, but there seems to be various sets.
  8. So, It's not actually a reissue. It's just similar to a Paul. What would it take to put an extra hole in the fretboard? Or put correct frets and electrics in? This is Gibson through and through, call it something it isn't. Just like the tons of various 59's they've released, only to release a more original one a year later. I'd happily put my 89 Les Paul against a new Custom shop Standard. If anyone wants to do the video?

  10. Well......I know how a dog feels (hears) when you say 'Does daddy love you, my smudgy little baby' or words to that effect.
  11. Sorry, I was trying not to bring him into it. Assange. He's been arrested and the US are out to get him.
  12. ...and now Freedom of speech takes another beating. But politics aren't allowed on here.
  13. Well. I tried it on my sticky nut and it worked perfectly. It's about the size of a nail varnish bottle, so there's plenty of it. For £4 it's worth a try. From reading the spec it's for RC cars. If it stops friction on bearings it must work on a string. I'm going to put some on my main guitar and try that. It comes with a brush, but a tooth pick is probable easier. Perhaps someone that uses big bend nut sauce can buy a bottle and compare?
  14. I'm going to try this product today. It say's it's really slippy, so should work fine on a nut. It's a fraction of the cost of Nut Sauce too. https://imgur.com/a/a07D33Y
  15. I suppose this in an internet bargain too. I bought it online. £999.
  16. Just picked up two sets of Gibson knobs for £9 on eBay. I love getting bargains. I got my Bigsby at half price. I'm looking for a nice red/black jacquard strap. An original one now. What are your good bargains?
  17. That's the great thing about this sort of guitar. It gives a different sound. Talking of different sound. Show me an expensive guitar that give the sound that this does.
  18. I suspect it died from a broken neck.

It's just arrived. The pic I posted on the original post was a generic one, but this is as good. I've taken some quick pics and if any of you remember the Black Classic I had a year ago. The quality was suspect and fretwork poor. But this is perfect. The nibs are exact and good edges. The fretboard looks a bit dry and the satin finish looks odd but is nice to the hand. It came with a multiply pickguard too, which I didn't expect. Can they be fitted without drilling? So, all positive so far. Now that's a first from me. I'm very much a pessimist. I do wonder if it'd look nice with gold parts. I've got some gold locking Grovers that would be a direct fit. Who does a bridge/ tailpiece at a good price?
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxL8TtV4ivw Has anyone got one? What is the opinion on them? What about Danelectro's in general. New or old?

I think I might put cream plastics on it too. I've got some cream covers from a 57 gold top reissue.

In the words of Britney....Oops I did it again! I couldn't resist the price, so I had it. Guitar guitar, £999 delivered. I think it's a bargain. It should be here tomorrow. Richlite fretboard, so it's different to my Classic.
  24. While walking my dogs today I came across a dead guitar. It had clearly been murdered for it's strings. You could see all of insides, even it's braces. The guitar police said it was an immigrant from Indonesia that had come to Britain in hope of fame, only to be the first guitarecide in Britain this year. Crime reaches new heights here. A guitar can't go to the park for a strum in peace. [flapper] [flapper]
