  1. Thats a tough spot to be in but his attitude is spot on ... thats where it all begins. The big man will get through this.
  2. So Ive finished the fundamentals of my orginal that I posted here a month ago. I added a third part including a solo at 1.50 min followed by a bridge and a melodic outro (actually based on a suggestion here). Ive also completed the lyrics and name the song: No Way Out. Its also increased a bit in tempo. Ive got a lockdown open mike at my place tomorrow where 4 guitarists will have a go the solo, then we will produce it. If anyone has any other suggestion feel free to shout out. I did a fast demo recordign of the full song (minus solo) on music memos app on my Iphone tonite with a drum beat on my phone, no effects with the banner LG-2, single one track take. cheers, EA
  3. What about the blind boy ... is he still blind, and a boy locked down with his Irish whiskey and a J-45 ? ps: i miss the grumpy ones, like big nose JerryK.
  4. They can be easily bought, I bought a couple replacements but here in Europe via Thomann ... but Ill tell you what Bruce, forget about it. Tiny detail, you will have a ding on her soon anyways.
  5. Thats a heluva sweet maple syrup flowing right there, and will be even more when continues to open up. One of Gibsons best, The Dove.
  6. play us something Bruce !
  7. Yes, just listened to the track. Really enjoyed it and that WM-45 sounds fabulous.
  8. Looks like J-45 natural or WM-45 (not long in production).
  9. Yeah, she's a real stunner ...we do require a sound sample or we'll just pretend youre making it up. Id hate to know how much SJ-200 TV would cost back in Australia, but it would be a nose bleed no doubt.
  10. Just listened again to a few Youtube vids ....it really is bold and big sounding. Isnt it a bit too big sounding ? How does stack up to vocals, not overpowering ? Deos remind me of my Martin J-40 which also has a big, bold tone, almost too big .... until i turned it down half a step and found the sweet spot.
  11. So ... youre saying you like it Em 7 .. ?
  12. Its a Dove with serious attitude.
  13. Would love to take one for spin .. Have a feeling Em7 is going to be chippin' in soon
  14. Oh great .. I remember you were dying for a `J-200 years ago on the AGF .. congratulations, you finally made your dream come true ....Im super happy for you, play her hard !
  15. Thank you ! ... Still more work ahead though ...third and final chapter awaits.
  16. I like your thinking, that kind of Dave Rawlings style lead outro he's so good at doing supporting Gillian ....but Ill need my producer buddy to do it, my lead skills are pretty avergage, fills and gaps yes but actualy lead melody, so so .... Thanks for the input !
  17. Actually, believe it or not .. I recorded it on my old Cort, simply because it was the closest to my desk when I got in the mood to record. However the inspiration came from the banner LG-2 when i was noodling a couple weeks back on her. The vibe and melody came out of that old school mahogany tone, especially those soulfull 7ths. So i will prbably produce it with that guitar as I hear old mahogany in there, but perhaps use the Dove for the fills to give it a bit of sparkle. I agree it does have a bit of Stones, Wild Horses vibe, but I was not thinking of that track at all when the melody and mood came, I had more of a pictre of Scottish / Irish vibe, some whiskey by the bar ... It still needs a third part that builds on the first two and can still surprise, could be a lazy Ronny Wood type solo, with some tasty slides and pull-offs ....Ill see. A good friend of mine is a producer, and he also gave the track the thumbs up. Happens to also be a superb guitarist, so if i dont crack the solo i might let him put his stamp on that section. Its a great hobby though, isnt it ...so important to stay creative and not get numbed out with whats going all around us. Thank you for your support folks ! EA
  18. Me too .... because Im still figuring out the lyrics ...lol .. I have the idea of what I want to convey, and have a few nice line but not the whole thing, so you see me mubling there quite a bit with the molody. Thank you for the input.
  19. Yes, that seems similar to my prgoression, except the minor chords ar 7ths, to give it that more laid back, loungey feel. For me the vocal melody drove the procss and mood. Please share your track when ready, would be good to hear it !
  20. I think you might be right Lars, I think with this track less is more, give the song space to breathe, keep the mood. Still need to finish lyrics and third part. Ill try to produce it after and share it. Thanks a lot for the inputs !
  21. Hi, Ive started again to have some more energy for orginal recording in this crazy lockdown period. Ive had this tune in my head that Ive been humming over a simple progress (G, Bm, Em, C) and recorded it on a two track (fingerpcking, vox track 1 and fills on track 2). Its a lazy, moody ballad, vocals rather differnt then what i normally do, but it seems to work. But Im a bit stuck after the two minut and couple turn arounds . Was wondering what your thougths are, and also how would you build the track - bridge, lead part, drums / percussion ...or throw it in the trash ? thanks in advance ! EA
