  1. I wouldn't fret over a little glue.......but I don't know why they adhere to such a policy
  2. Right, you can't hyde from these types of problems....
  3. With glue problems, you just have to stick with it.
  4. Sorry about the pickup problems on your guitar, AND that you got reamed by even bringing it up......The Gibson apologists are getting to the point that you can't bring up ANY problems with quality control, or workmanship, or now it seems even technical problems can't be discussed.....unbelievable....

  5. Hey Kingme, thanks for thinking of me....try onewilyfool@yahoo.com

  6. Here's my latest....'23 Gibson L-2......recorded with Zoom Q3-HD
  7. Hi Jinder, Newtone strings (fabrique en Angleterre) are great strings, they are all made with round core, so no hex core to build up oils and dirt. The Heritage are GREAT string for vintage parlor guitars that can't take the stress of full tension strings.....they are in 10, 11, &12 guage, each set pulling a different tension. One interesting thing about the Heritage strings, they are designed to apply equal tension to each string......no one string pulls harder, so no tendency to twist the neck. I started with 10's on my two parlors, but went up to 11's on one of them. These strings last and last and last.......round core again.....try them out......here they are about $13/set, pricey, but again, they last longer than Elixirs even. Good luck.... An example of one year old strings on my Bruno:
  8. Larry, I'm with Anne!!! You need to pst MORE!!!! Great job!!! love it!
  9. Big Kahune....I don't know either.....maybe best to let KS bring it up......sad to hear , so sudden.

  10. Stephen.....great work......and I'm glad you are BACK!!! from the injury.......keep pluckin' my friend....
  11. I agree with Larry and Node....coated strings are the best!! My body chemistry is such that it eats non-coated strings,lol....so I pretty much HAVE to use them!!! Node, I've heard tha you would play better with a new bone, nuts, and I'm pretty sure you've used a saddle before.....
  12. Hey guys....great uploads....this is a great idea!!!
  13. Fred....thanks for that....lol...I will post them bit by bit in the new year

  14. Here are the usual suspects...... http://www.youtube.com/user/onewilyfool/videos
  15. On the hole, I don't think we will every really know. Like playing ten J-45's, you would get different sounds from each, change the sound hole on each of them.....and you may get different effects too......we are dealing with wood, and it is not a uniform material......probably all soundhole changes would be subtle and like "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" the differences would be subjective too......
  16. Clarence White enlarged his sound hole on his D-28 guitar. He is famous for it.....Tony Rice now has this guitar and it is considered the "holy grail" of D-28's. Here is a modern reissue at Elderly....NOTE: the larger sound hole........for those of you who are into size.... http://www.elderly.com/new_instruments/items/D28CW.htm
  17. I guess size DOES matter.......even if we are talking about our holes...... Has anyone ever "Clarence White-d" their hole????
  18. KSDaddy once gave me a schooling in this type of guitar. There ARE things that you need to be aware of, like loose neck blocks, collapsing bracing on the top, etc. etc. Best to ask him, he has all the info on them. I, too, am attracted, and if I get to play a nice one, maybe I'll add that some day......good luck!!!
  19. Nodehopper, I think you should continue to practice in the bathroom, even if you feel your voice is sounding like crap, or you are singing so loud that your face is flushed, or you feel that your playing ability is going down the drain, or you feel like if you sold all your guitars right now, that you would take a real bath, or you get pissed off at your mistakes, or if you've had some close shaves almost hitting your guitars on the sink........I think you should get your feet wet, and keep at it. Even if your practice seems dry at times, keep plugging. I'm a big bathroom fan, and I think it would really help you. And, remember, have fun.
  20. Node what ever works....by the way, if you are going to the bathroom, mention Nodehopper's name....you will get a good seat... I think it is a great post....that is why a lot of buskers play in subway stations....they get to hear themselves
  21. Congradulations......that does look like a keeper!!
  22. Well, I've played a lot of those modern Robert Johnson's, and Blues Kings.....and they can't hold a candle to my L-20. I think they are all the same body shape, but different body depths.......chacqun son gout.....to each his own
