  1. FF would stand for the factory code, but lately we don't use these anymore. Therefore, the first two digits 08 would refer to the year of manufacture= 2008. For any questions regarding dating our guitars, please send an email to service@gibson.com or service.europe@gibson.com Thanks !
  2. Hi Jofipe, Are you sure it's a 1968 reissue? I know of the 1967 reissue Flying V, but not of a1968 Flying V reissue. Maybe the following website can help you further as well, but let me know if you have any questions: http://www.flying-v.ch/ Kind regards, Stijn Vergeest Gibson Europe Customer Service 00800-4GIBSON1 00800-44427661 www.gibson.com service.europe@gibson.com Please make sure to reply with the original email included. 3. Hi IlieD4U, Not necessarily mahogany, please see files specs from our archive attached which specify 'selected tone woods" and "high output humbucking pickups"- not specified that they are Dirty Finger pickups. Specs from the Gruhns Guide to Vintage Guitars are as follows: Invader: Les Paul-type single cutaway, mahogany body, beveled bass-side edge, 2 ceramic magnet humbucking pickups with exposed zebra coils, 4 knobs, 3-way selector switch mounted with control knobs, tune-o-matic bridge, stop tailpiece, bolt-on maple neck, ebony fingerboard, dot inlay, standard Gibson peghead shape, decal logo, chrome-plated hardware Introduced: 1983 Alpine white, ebony or Ferrari red finish: by 1986 Discontinued: 1988
  4. Can't see the pictures really well, but the specs of the CL-20 Standard plus are as follows: # solid spruce top # arched back of special select wood # rosewood fingerboard and bridge # Tortoise body binding # abalone snowflake position markers # Matching headstock veneer with mother of pearl Gibson headstock logo # 25 1/2 " scale # factory installed transducer # natural gloss lacquer finish
  5. The X stands indeed for 1954. The last two digits (25 in this case) would itemize the guitars in the rack.
  6. Hi Parisology, Welcome to the forum ! If it's an older one (40s-50s), then there should be a factory order number ink-stamped on the inside back. For narrowing down the year of manufacture, please send the following pictures of the guitar : * Photos of the instrument in JPG format as an attachment (please limit to 2MB total size) – full front, full back, as well as close ups of the front and back of the headstock, to service@gibson.com or service.europe@gibson.com Kind regards, Stijn
