Wasn't it John that replied to a question someone asked if Ringo was the best drummer in the world?
"He's not even the best drummer in the band"!
Jearrrhh - him Winston could be so cruel. .

Rather its true or not, I don't know but my oldest sister was a music teacher and claimed Ringo was the few drummers who had perfect timing. My wife claims the same thing.
They were right. Not sure if he was one of few, but Starr was immaculately good. Yet not a typhoon which became more and more attractive plus minus 1970 and onwards.

Absolutely - and this is probably 1963. Never seen this particular shot before.
My father came home with the She Loves You/I'll Get You single for me and they wore the same lapel-less suits on the front.
Don't forget the ultra-kool mid-phase btw. The looser or freer not yet hippie-style 1965-66.

I've been known to enjoy music from the 1800s to the 2020s. Depends on the piece of music, and how it affects me. And it doesn't matter what genre or artist. If I like it, I like it, if I don't, I ignore it.
But I listen with musician's ears. What the mass audiences go for might or might not agree with me. And that's OK.
My dad was into Tchaikovsky, Duke Ellington, Eddy Arnold, Frank Sinatra, Elton John and a lot more, so I guess I just inherited that.

I would like to know how you as a sax-player (and perhaps colleagues) characterize The Beatles' relation to the saxophone.

Sorry, I have not listened to it and don't really plan to. I loved the Beatles for many years, had most of the albums on vinyl, cassette tape and later CD. Saw the movies. But somehow, I just lost interest over the years. Tried listening to one of the albums awhile ago and didn't make it all the way through. I think they were brilliant, but they no longer appeal to me.
But I'm concerned about AI - especially this recent decision
"The judge made a distinction between works that are copyrighted and works that are not. Though the U.S. Copyright Office considers a copyright to exist “from the moment the work is created,” the agency notes that copyrights have to be registered to bring a lawsuit for alleged infringement"
Granted, the fight is just beginning, but it seems inevitable that artists (in all media) will be the losers. In this case, the artists could prove their works were ripped off for use in AI-created "art" but they lost because they never registered a copyright.
If you've posted music anywhere on the internet, get ready to start hearing your tunes and lyrics in AI-generated works. How many of you actually register copyrights for your works? I understand that this Beatles song is a different kind of thing that has its own merits. And there are plenty of good - even exciting - uses for AI. But it sure looks like it will change the arts forever... in a bad way.
Heps for a weighty comment. Maybe you should post it in the Lounge-thread Do the Beatles music hold up to modern music also.
The whole copyright issue is always a serious territory to enter. I remember reading a CSN&Y book, which also had a diary-like calendar. It informed about how the guys registered just after writing, not releasing a song. Probably so they could play it live - but also so that no jerk would steal the melody while recording. SO many ways things can leak from that vulnerable phase. .

Every J45-TV has the advanced bracing.
Okay - still according to the famous Polecastro-film, the X is placed on the same spot while the rest of the top-braces differ.

Nice.
Take a post-Beatles era song written by John Lennon 45 years ago, re-do it with today's technology, and then take that version back to how the Beatles would've done 59 years ago. I'm a little confused by it all, but the Time Travel version did have the sound and feel of a vintage Beatles tune. 👍.
Yeah, , , but it also shows HOW good their early stuff was. .

You could try a Martin HD28. They really sing, at least to me. I have a 2014 D45V that really sings.
I'd like to ask a thing : Will the sound go muddy/unclear (a bit rubberband-like🥺) when the strings on your HD-28 fades. Happens with my HD-28V - otherwise a topz-magnificent guitar.

I wasn’t old enough to be around when the hype or mania was going on. I heard their music and loved it. What happened in the 60’s I did find out about till my teens. So that had no effect on ME.
I was there - but very young, , , still had and enjoyed the records. You probably won't be able to imagine how big they were. That means everywhere - also in the camps that didn't understand or like them.
When Alfred himself joins the wave there not much left to discuss - says it all.
Don't know what he thought of the band, but he sure drummed the vibe up. . .

Some young people still think “The Beatles” are still relevant… This is what it would’ve looked & sounded like in 1964….
Very good - and it offers a little platform for afterthought, doesn't it. .

Interesting video....I thought I was gonna like the song more than I did.
Might grow on you - did on me. My prob is the production = Too much soup 1/3 in and through out. As we acoustic players know, music not least arises in the pausing.
And where are those Paul & (cleaned-up) John uni-vocals we treasure so much, , , plus a clear George signature to be found.
All in all I let my 💚 win though. It's the path to choose here. . .

This band ended 5,000 years ago, can we just.. "let it be"
Thing is that it's more than a band - much more.
This happens when a rock-act gets big enough. A handful of groups managed to get there over the years. .

Well, an ambivalence lies between the lines. One can sense they've had enough, , , of each other too. The glasses are full - or empty. .
This in fact can be seen as a great cadeau to Stones.

Every Guitar I’ve ever owned had to have a proper Set up. Cheap ones or expensive ones.. Manufacturer’s do a basic Seetup.. Dealers used to them but not so much anymore.. A couple do a slightly better job than the Factory..
I own Gibson’s, Martin’s, Epiphone’s, Rickenbacker’s, Grtetsch’s, Hofner & Fender’s.. They all needed something to get in perfect playing condition..
A good Luthier can Setup your Guitar to play great. Good String height, proper Neck Relief & perfect Intonation. It may need Neck, Nut, Bridge & Fret work.. It may need better Nut & Bridge.. Maybe better Tuners & better Strings..
I can do much of the work myself.. I’ve taken the time to buy the tools & learn.. My Luthier does a far better job than I so I usually have him do the initial Set up work as needed.. From then on I can do adjustments to keep it in good playing condition.. In perfect tune & intonation..
Good luck to you!
Puzzles me you don't mention the saddle, which would be 1st priority when adjusting for cleaner intonation. Do you mean saddle when saying bridge.
Btw. checked my Birds and they don't have the prob. Even though I sanded the saddles several times over the years. .
Have to add I never encountered the theme, EA - the contemporary Gibsons here are very well working. Some of the oldies however had a few issues - but also here'n'there in the low 3 or 5 first frets sector.
