    Pickups!

Well after much consideration I went with the gibson dirty fingers :( thnx to the dem00n who mentioned them, made me look a lot more into them.. and I'm not sure what creates the immense difference in sound between my Gibson and the Epi with the dirty fingers ( wood and construction? ) but WOW is all I can say. This pickups are HOT! they sound soooo much better than my EMGs in my other guitars! I left the pickup covers off, I may go back and put them on one day but I kinda like this look, its different :]

    Pickups!

Wellll I ordered me some Dirty Fingers I was wondering though, on the Epi Prophecy model the pole pieces come gold O.o but the picture on the ones on the Gibson site and the place I ordered mine from seem to silver but its hard to tell :/ if they come gold is it possible to swap pole pieces from one pickup to another?? or will it destroy my tone? or can it even be done xD?

    Pickups!

I heard them in an Epi Les Paul Prophecy, the GX with them, I have the EX version with the EMG's and the EMG's seem meaner :)

    Pickups!

The Dirty Finger's sound good but they just don't sound as metal to me

    Pickups!

I think I'm going to look into those 500T and 496R, thanks for the input guys! This forum is so much more useful than Ultimate-Guitar's :) One other question tho, can you put the chrome covers over those pups? I think they may look odd in my les paul all naked like that :- haha, sorry for all the noob questions btw :D

    Pickups!

I have Burstbucker Pro's in my les paul and they sound great, but I play alot of metal mostly and was wondering what you guy's take would be on maybe switching out to Seymour Blackouts or EMG's, I have EMG's in my Epi Les Paul Prophecy and they sound pretty good, but I'm scared of messing with my "baby", my Gibson that is :) ideas?
  9. "The serial number is consistent with a Les Paul Standard model in Silverburst finish and 60's neck, made on the 87th day of 2008 in Nashville, TN. The pickups are Burstbucker Pro's. This model was a dealer exclusive for Guitar Center and Musician's Friend in 2008" Reply from Gibson
  10. Sent an email and almost 10 minutes afterwards found this hahaha: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-Les-Paul-Standard-60s-Neck-Limited-Electric-Guitar-?sku=526790&CJAID=10381297&CJPID=2281514
  11. Never have R9, I kinda figured they'd have that on the back and yea I saw those GC limited run's but like R9 said, different headstock. And I didn't even think about e-mailing Gibson hahaha :D thanks for all the help guys!
  12. So I guess I'ma go with calling it a Standard then hahaha thnx guys @Big Bill, yea its ebony @Twiz/// I love it too man thnx
  13. I have an Epiphone Les Paul Propechy and while it doesnt stand up to my Silverburst Gibson its still an awesome guitar and not crap by any means
  14. Which pickups would it be? Or is there any definite way of knowing the exact kind?
  15. I got this Les Paul Silverburst at a Guitar Center a little while back and I've never really been able to find out what exact kind it is and I'm also not sure which exact pickups and whatnot. Its my very first gibson so excuse me for being such a noob haha. I know its got a 60's slim neck profile and they labled it as a les paul standard limited at guitar center. The limited run ones I've seen that were "made for GC" seem to have different serial numbers though and have the little gibson emblem in the middle of the headstock, this one doesnt. But it also doesn't have a pick guard like them. So maybe I thought it was a studio, but the studios said "Studio" on the rod cover and don't have binding on the body, and mine does. So I'm a little confused as to which one it really is, any help would be greatly appreciated. also here is the serial number: 008780393
