That'd probably be the way I'd go; I like a nice mid bump for overdriven tones but that's me.

Patience, Grasshopper. The likely hood of someone in this particular forum having done a side by side comparison of a particular set of pickups in a particular guitar for a particular style of music and replying within an hour and a half of your original post is not good.

I would look for similar instruments on Ebay and Craig's list. Those web sites are as good of an indicator of current fair market value as anything.

I gotta tell you, the color of the one you have is awesome and, okay this is a bit shallow but... a big part of the reason why I want one.

I want one of those... badly. I like the fact that it's not too fancy, it has the same appeal as a Tele - no fuss, just balls.

If it's a no brainer, then you should know. Guitars were meant to be played.

I don't think Gibson uses model numbers, just names. What you're probably seeing are stock codes used by specific retailers.
