  1. Workhorse smirkhorse.....how about the Workingman? lol.....my WM45 just had its 20th birthday earlier this month!! I'm glad this one stuck around, it astounds me with its different tone shades
  2. Nice guitar! Wasn't there a LG-2 Banner that was made from JT's original, also in 2013?
  3. After having a look at pics on Gibson webpage on these I noticed the sound port is surrounded by black plastic / rubber? Would have looked nicer left plain wood. Looking inside i see that the kerfling is solid, not ribbed. Wonder why this is? How does it differ with side thickness from regular L00 or other models? Neck profile is like a low oval shape or flatter than what i'm used to. Oh well, i am old school. Guess i'll be keeping my trusty WM45.
  4. Did anyone see or have a Japanese late 70's Aria Mach 1 AF-255? It is a J200 copy, looks like all woods are laminated.
  5. I see in the pics of the new Gibson that they still are putting the locator hole in bridge plate too close to the bridge pin hole - this one looks close, but not impeding the edge of pin hole like on my J45. Also will get worse over time with use.
  6. This latest album sounds like a continuation of the Lanois produced albums, spooky repetitive grooves with Dylan riffing story like lyrics over the top. Dylan's last great album to me is the one backed by the Band, mid 70's? and then after that i liked Street Legal from '78. After Street Legal - ??
  7. Love this guy & his great lyrics. Is this Gibson a Custom Dwight Yokum ? sounds really good like a Gibson should - esp finger picked
  8. That's great thing to do Dan. I wish you happy adventures ahead...please be sure and take pics wherever you stop to show us home bound types. Where do you pull it up to at night, a camper grounds or just anywhere? Powder sure looks like a good boy. He doesn't even try to run or wander off on his own & stays right by your side? Is he a purebred retriever? My last dog would have run into the nearest whatever when I turned my head, I had to be on my toes, but my dog growing up didn't need a leash, he stayed right with me.
  9. Just filed a report with Ebay. Here is automated reply: This information is very important to us, so please be assured that we will thoroughly review it and take action if necessary. If there's a violation, the action we take depends on how it impacts our community. In some cases, we explain the situation to the seller, and the listing will remain on our website. If the item or listing doesn't follow our rules, we may cancel the listing. We may also restrict the seller's buying and selling activities on eBay. "After they explain situation to the seller, the listing will remain on our website"???
  10. New to me '03 WM-45. Starting to get old enough now to be really broken in with the mahogany Gibson slope tone. I just put on some Waverly tuners (white ovals), non bleached bone saddle and fire stripe guard from Stu Mac. I shaped the guard with the old black one as a guide, beveled edges with a razor blade at 45 degree angle as best as I could. Came out ok, but just noticed that bubbles formed under guard after I stuck on the 3M double sided tape. Now I'm awaiting several more 3M sheets that are being sent (got them from e-bay, and the shipping wasn't bad - .49 Cents. Going to attempt it again - this time I'll make sure to press hard as I apply to the back of guard. That is after I get the guard off & clean up all the glue again... Tuners are a pleasure to own. I had to drill upper holes, and also had to ream out peg holes out a touch before the push in bushings would seat down all the way. BTW, I got the reamer for 2.49 at Harbor Freight. Home Depot has torch cleaner tips for adjusting nut slots for like 5 bucks.
  11. Red & Jannusguy, can you tell us what you hear between these two when played? Especially interested in knowing because of Jannusguy's vintage ones & Red's newer vintage.
