  1. Thanks Duane! Funny isn’t it? That pickup came out from my ‘13 Am Special Strat, and sounds completely different in the Les Paul. Some say, the sound comes from pickups alone... they are wrong. Bence.
  2. Indeed! And can’t be happier! No more soldering jack plugs back. For a hobby player, like me, it’s a relief. Bence.
  3. Hello Tman! Thank You! Happy New Year to You and Your loved ones! Life is OK around here. I hope, it's great over there too... Bence.
  4. Hello Jdgm! Thank You! Happy New Year to You too! 🙂 Bence.
  5. Tributes are great! I have a first year (2010) 50s Tribute. It's such a great-sounding guitar. Bence.
  6. Weirdly, it still sounds more like a Les Paul than the donor Stratocaster... ("tonewoods do not exist" - some say...) I like it's satin look too. It feels somewhat better than a gloss-finished Les Paul. Bence.
  7. Hello. It is very aggressive with emphasis on highs, and it's out-of-phase with the neck pickup at certain volume levels. https://www.facebook.com/bence.toth.9022/videos/10218601828030878/ Bence.
  8. Hello Larry. Ed King of Lynyrd Skynyrd liked it. Bence.
  9. Hello! It's been a while since I posted here... A recent addition to my collection is this '18 Deluxe Player Plus, I have modded with a Fender Texas Special pickup at the bridge. Blasphemous, but sounds brilliant. Bence.
  10. Hello and welcome to the Forums. In case of accident, You may try this to remove slight marks from the pickguard: http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/131621-repairing-scratched-plastic/ Best wishes... Bence
  11. Compare it to the huge volute used on Gibson Les Pauls between 1970 and 1982: Bence.
  12. Hello and welcome to the Forums. This is the important picture. Small volute means 1969. Bence.
  13. Custom Shop serial are confusing. In my reading: "0" for 1960 Reissue, "3" for production year 2013... What also makes me think it's a 2013, is the hardware. If the guitar is stock, the reflector knobs were not used on 2003 models. They have black top hats. Bence
  14. If it's a six-digit, it will be 2013. According to Gibson's site: "1952-1960 Les Paul, Explorer, Flying V, and Futura reissues (since late 1992): M YRRR or MYRRRR M is the model year being reissued Y is the production year RRR® indicates the guitar's place production for that year." Bence.
  15. Hello again. I am unsure by the info You have provided. Is it a six or a five digit serial? Bence.
  16. Hello Nicola and welcome to the Forums. It looks just like a 2013 SG Standard Reissue: http://www.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/SG/Gibson-Custom/SG-Standard-Reissue.aspx Good luck... Bence
  17. Hello. The chipping around the serial number is an issue. The edge of the F-hole shouldn't be finished. The rest of the problems are coming from the nature of the nitro-cellulose lacquer. But I understand You, I have OCD for my instruments too. Bence.
  18. Thank You, George! I could only find a very few with 2.5KOhm rating, and all had some kind of a compatibility issue. As it seems, I have to order a custom-made pot... :( Bence.
  19. I am stuck. First, I wrongly said it's the Treble, - never mind - it's the Bass pot. Anyways, CTS could not provide me a replacement part number. It's a 2.5K "L" pot. Does any of You have a good parts source? Thank You again! Best wishes... Bence
  20. Thank You very much! :) I have sent an inquiry to CTS with the original part number, asking for a product link. Best wishes... Bence
  21. Hello George, and Dave. As it seems, the Treble pot died on my '78 Recording. Do You happen to know the make, specs of it? What would be the correct new replacement part for it? Thank You in advance! Best wishes... Bence
  22. You got that zero fret nut on Your guitar, right? Does it follows the fretboard radius? Bence.
  23. Hello. The Schaller bridge is a typical replacement for the original wrap-around stopbar. Otherwise, looks original. Best wishes... Bence.
