Jason H... I don't know how long you've had it, or how honest the pawn shop is ... but you might try returning it if you paid a Gibson price for a counterfeit. If they did not tell you it could be a fake - the implication is it wasn't. Like a Rolex - you can't really tell until you get an expert to look at it. When the Romans coined the warning "Caveat Emptor" - they didn't have to deal with knockoffs from China! G'luck! As far as the negative comments - equal numbers on both sides. I've read it was Col. Parker. He tried to make the lives difficult of the band - at times, even after Elvis took off and was making millions, they were getting paying $100-200 a week (around $1200 today) and their families were living with relatives. Agree... I was an 'English Major' (aka Literature Geek) for my first 2 years. 'Paradise Lost' was my wake up call. I realized I'd probably never be able to afford a second Gibson guitar writing prose and poetry for Hallmark greeting cards. But I really did like Thoreau - "The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation." in his Civil Disobedience. Walden Lake, etc.

I finally finished my "Marketing 101" textbook. Now on to "Sociology 101". Probably would have gotten more than a "B" in those courses if I'd finished the books back before the final exams.

We didn't have that in our school. Maybe because our nuns belonged to a different order. Wonder what the Jesuits did?
