  1. FWIW - Gibson's banjo plant was destroyed in that city's flood 10 years ago and there appear to be no plans to go back into that product line. Their five string blue grass banjos were the Rolls Royces, not sure about their tenors.
  2. You will have better luck if you post this on the sub-forum : Gibson Original Instruments. Go to 'Home' and you'll find it listed. This sub-forum is mostly for acoustic guitar.
  3. BBP, It was a test: You missed that I spelled Britney wrong. So, C+.
  4. And a judge ruled that Brittany Spear's still has to submit to her conservatorship. She should have asked for a Jury Trial.
  5. Long Scale vs Short,. Maple vs Hog. The only thing they have in common is being square shouldered and a bird on the p/g.
  6. Brrrrrrffffffffrtttt! Hard Boiled Egg, Broccoli and Bean Breakfast Burrito. Another reason people leave. The morning after.
  7. Don't blame me if you can't connect the dots. Next you'll be complaining about comments about Publishers Clearing House.
  8. Anyone got a Digital Vernier Caliper ?
  9. Measure With A Micrometer Mark with Chalk CUT WITH AN AXE ...
  10. Wow. This is seriously cool. Wonder why not done on other models?
  11. two millimeters. Maybe a hair wider. Look to be dark brown on mine. Could be the BBQ sauce.
  12. Whitey - PBS ? I know the P stands for Pravda, but I'm not sure what the BS stands for.
  13. JH, Thanks for letting us all know how this ended. Most folks come here with predicaments, large and small, but after getting all sorts of sage advice - never let us know what they would up doing - and/or why. Good Luck with your J45 - glad you're not keeping her in the cardboard case ! You might be able to find some stranger willing to buy it for it's nostalgic value and offset a good bit of what you paid for your new case! Reverb says you can ask for $400 if in Very Good condition, though I wouldn't expect more than $150 for mine.
  14. Yep, Similar to your 300. AWD, dual turbos, AC/heated seats with massagers , 365hp. Geniuses in marketing have been cutting back on large sedans in favor of SUVs. Ford discontinued Taurus last year. I can fit 4 bodies in my trunk.
  15. You're an easy mark Sarge. I have a bridge, if you're interested.
  16. Based on GhostFL's photo - my Taurus SHO is now self-identifying as an Aston-Martin.
  17. Yep. Sort of weird. I've seen Newbies post the same question on 2 different forums but not 3x on the same one. With different signon names.
  18. I thought we were suppose to keep politics, religion and car bashing out of this forum.
  19. Back in the 60s use to say "Never trust anyone over 30." Now it's "Never trust anyone under 30." Churchill said "If you're under 30 and not a Liberal, you have no heart. If you're over 30 and not a Conservative, you have no brain." Hope we don't extend the vote to 16 and 17 year olds. We'll wind up with Sponge Bob as President.
  20. After being on my first jury - I hammered into my kids: "The jury of 12 people will have 6 of below average intelligence. Do you want to put yourself in a position where a group like that will decide your fate?" Especially if it's a complicated case? On top of which - it is likely that 3 or 4 of them will have come in resenting the imposition on their time, and will only pay attention to things they want to hear. And one juror is likely extremely biased and views it as his/her mission to inflate his/her ego by doing everything possible to 'win' in the jury room. So, if you put yourself in a position where as many as 3/4 of the jurors aren't 'top shelf'.
  21. I believe Gibson uses the same case for both Square Shoulder H'birds and Round Shoulder J45s. Tight fit in different areas depending on which you're putting in. If you want something better fitting - you should bring your guitar with you to the largest, closest guitar specialty store. Like bringing your feet with you when you go to buy a pair of shoes. Otherwise, your idea of a perfect fit might be different than someone else's. I'm happy with the standard 'one size fits all' that Gibson uses. I think they're TKL still. But a case maker, like SilverCreek that specifies a model that fits the J45 - would be as good as you'll likely get. Some cases come with shims. I guess that's a variation on the theme 'one size fits all'.
  22. Probably explains why so many ads in the US end it "Will not ship to EU."
  23. Good job - very impressively clean and utilitarian. Wife wants me to make a couple for outside use - potting plants. Problem is, when I've tackled this type of project before, I can never get the 4 legs even. Wind up with just another wobbly legged coffee table.
