  1. Thanks for your response Kid. I just recently turned 59. So I’d be almost the same age as you when you got yours. That might be a good sign. 😄
  2. In recent days I have been thinking about maybe learning how to play the mandolin. I wanted to hear from you all who know how to play, and those who maybe have tried and maybe found it wasn't something they wanted to pursue. In other words, I would like all kinds of opinions. Did you find it a lot harder than playing the guitar? Did you find it helpful in becoming a better guitar player? Or was it perhaps distracting? Or not beneficial to your quest in becoming a better guitar player? I play the drums, guitar, and bass. But I have tried some other instruments that I just did not enjoy playing; and I thought I would. The banjo is one. I bought one. Got books, watched videos, and then, after some time, realized I didn't really like playing the banjo. It just wasn't my thing. Sold the banjo. If I did choose to learn, I would probably start out on a cheap model first. I didn't do that with the banjo. And I would also probably wait later to learn; maybe this Summer, because I have too much going on right now in my life. I have to make the decision myself, of course; but what do you guys think? To learn? Or not to learn? That is the question? Thanks...
  3. Very nice Sparky! I’m definitely jealous. How does it sound? What pickups does it have!
  4. You know Hippydude, you have not once commented on HOW THE GUITAR SOUNDS! Your cheaper guitars have better set ups. But do they sound as good as the Gibson? Why so many members around here worry about such unimportant things is truly a mystery to me. If it sounds great, then who cares? You can send it back, and yeah, you might get one that has the bridge in a better position for you, but it might also sound like crap! I believe there are many guitar players that care more about the way their guitar looks, then the way it sounds. I'm not one of them.
  5. Seems to me the only reason they would have stopped making it is because nobody was buying it. What other reason could it be?
  6. I disagree. I’ve seen Metallica and I’ve seen Megadeth. I thought the show Megadeth put on was much better. And I’ll take Dave’s vocals over James’ vocals any day. And every drummer that MD has had has been better than Lars.
  7. I would have left them alone. What you did does not look good IMO. sorry
  8. If guitars were motorcycles I’d need a lot more room to store them.
  9. And I have a Red G & L as well!
  10. For me, the color of my guitar is way down the list of priorities. I don't really care that much about what color my guitar is. Red is my least favorite color. Always has been. But I have 3 red guitars. When I am playing a guitar, the color of it just doesn't matter to me. If a guitar plays and sound great, that is all I care about.
  11. Congratulations! Very nice. In 1976 I was 14, and KISS was my favorite band. I still listen to their early albums.
  12. I’ve seen that many times over the years and I laugh every time I see it. It’s been awhile. Thanks for posting it. 😄
  13. I was referring to the online process of setting up shipping. Not mailing the box.
  14. I’ve sold and bought a lot of stuff on Reverb. Never had any problems. I won’t use eBay anymore. I find the shipping process much easier on Reverb.
  15. I think Rob Hanford is one of the greatest hard rock singers of all time. And I like his high screaming! A lot!😃
  16. Nice song from what I believe is their best album; Sad Wings of Destiny.
  17. brad1

    NSGD!

Laser sharks? where do I get one?😃
  18. The moron is the one who thinks that guitar is in mint condition.
  19. Buy some vanilla scented Glade. Spray it in the case every so often.
