  1. Is it possible to clean up Junior Combo with an eq pedal, if so what sort of settings/shape would you recommend? thanks.
  2. Admitedly mine was a copy, a grainger copy, apparently/allegedly same specs, from same factory but different badge. But I didnt really like mine. It was loud but sterile like a SS amp. I much prefered my junior.
  3. Just wondering has anyone tried one of these with a valve junior & what did you think?
  4. Yes I'm starting to think it might be better to go for a small powered pa speaker, or even a mackie srm150 & keep the junior as is cos I do really like the sound at past 12
  5. I'm looking for the cleanest tube upgrade I can do to v2 junior, I'm not too bothered about it sounding sterile or lifeless Cos i intend to use the junior as a platform for a modeling pedal & mic input, perhaps drum machine too to match my friends medium volume accoustic combo. Of course it would be nice if it still broke up after about 3 o clock, but thats not absolutely necessary. it would be nice if the tubes were easily available in the UK as well. Thanks
  6. quick question or 2 for you all I've heard a couple of mentions about a mosfet clean boost pedal 1 if I boost the volume, does that make the breakup from clean to driven later/louder too 2 does anyone know where i can buy one of these pre-made, I'm cack handed & a bit dangerous with electrics & soldering irons
  7. Ive read a couple of posts here about using the guitar volume control, as a gain controller, particularly on a valve junior. However doesnt this affect the overal volume of the guitar too ?
  8. A cheap DC with a natural/finish finish with either 1 or 2 p90s or humbuckers. in other words a cheaper version of this http://www.gibson.com/Products/GibsonElectric/Gibson%20Electric%20Guitars/LesPaul/Double%20Cuts/Faded%20Double%20Cut/
  9. HI I have a les paul junior special, & I wanna dismantle it, take the strings off & unscrew the neck for packing away, will it be fairly straightforward to reassemble ?
  10. I bought one of those Vox Amplugs & the sound is nice & voxy, well as voxy as all the vox simulations I've heard anyway, but the hiss is terrible. I kept it only because I was too lazy to take it back. & got one of these instead http://www.korg.co.uk/products/effects/pandora_px5d/fx_px5d.asp velcroed to my guitar this looks nice too http://www.korg.com/gear/info.asp?A_PROD_NO=PX4D is half the price & has the advantage of a guitar strap mount so no velcro.
  11. my throttles will be the controls on this, http://www.korg.co.uk/products/effects/pandora_px5d/fx_px5d.asp velcroed to the back of this http://www.thomann.de/gb/tenayo_sw300_silent.htm just below the neck
  12. Thanks Not knowing a great deal about electronics, I thought the pots might provide some resistance or protective function rather than just volume etc
  13. Another question for you all Is it possible to wire a pickup, for example a slimbucker (well actually quite specifically a kent armstrong slimbucker) directly to a 1/4 amp plug without damaging the pickup or amp ? thanks
  14. Actually its academic now. As I've gone & gotten myself a SoCal clone. I was considering running one junior on clean & one with effects applied, but then that requires even more pedals & things.
