  1. No problems with the Easter Bunny, got it covered! Just call me "Elmer Fudd".
  2. 2 bits of toast and Vegemite for me this morning as it's 0435 and we are going offshore fishing this morning! Maybe fish for tea??
  3. Chuckle and Mrs Dig is such a good cook!!! My problem is my back doesn't allow me to exercise.
  4. I wish I could run mate but no can do, so it looks like a crane will be needed to unload me onto the dock at Sydney....Grin~
  5. OK I think I've got it, what you call chips are probably what we call potato crisps. Our chips are your fries. On this cruise we are going on there is a burger/hotdog bar that is included! Imagine free burgers....OMG I'm gonna be the size of a house!
  6. My goodness that sounds healthy....well done! We had a few upsets just before tea with Mum last night and I was too agitated to cook properly. I ended up with a couple of fat beef sausages, chips and a couple of out fresh eggs all fried up. Tomato sauce and a slice of bread & butter. Generally I've been eating less over the last few weeks which has allowed me to reduce my insulin by 4 points, also lost about 3 kilos.
  7. Yes I'd imagine KGW would be a possibility. We have travelled to Coffin Bay every other year for some time now as the whiting are easily caught there. Cowell on the way down supplies our bag of blue swimmers and I almost forgot, Coffin Bay has the most magnificent oysters! $8 a dozen and some of them were 5" long....bloody beautiful! This is where we stayed last trip to Coffin Bay!
  8. Sounds good! Any blue swimmers? Streaky Bay. Nice place, bloody long way from here but is an American's worst nightmare.....lots of big white Noah's!
  9. You say "chips" not "fries"? Mate half way to being aussie already!
  10. Chuckle........... I reckon they're going to need a hoist or crane to get me off the boat next month, given all those lovely food sources!!
  11. Muesli for brekky and some of last night's left over beef casserole with toast for lunch today I call 'em "L'overs".
  12. Chuckle...I'm responsible for my self control. not you so post away! Speaking of self control. we were in town looking a some paintings belonging to a friend and artist with a view to picking one for a raffle. After we left I said I was hungry and that was it we ended up at KFC! How bad was that? I only eat that stuff about twice a year but each time I look around me Is see very obese people, it should tell me something~
  13. Got me! About 10 years ago I damaged my back and all exercise came to a screaming halt. Since then the weight has been going on and as you've pointed out, I love food.
  14. It's your fault 4H now I have just had 2 slices of toast, a rasher of bacon and some baked beans! Gonna have to go light on lunch now....Grin~
  15. I'm trying to lose weight ATM as I'm too tubby and having trouble fitting into some of my pants! I'm hungry all the time because for the last few weeks I've been cutting back on what I eat. No snacks, one serve of main course (no seconds), nothing after mains! I don't ever eat dessert but was in the habit of sneaking a bit of chocolate or a few lollies after my meal craving something sweet. Those things are now banned 'cause if they are here I will give i and eat them. I've even got some jam filled lamingtons going stale in the cupboard, and I love lamingtons!! Not sure how universal lamingtons are so here's a link.( I love the jam (jelly) filled ones!!) http://allrecipes.com.au/recipe/24143/chocolate-lamingtons.aspx?o_ln=SimRecipes_Link_1&o_is=SimilarRecipes So far I have dropped 3 kilos! I was 85 kilos but at 5'7 1/2" it was too much weight to carry. I think that's about 13 stone. So food threads need to be avoided or I will give in to temptation....Grin~
  16. I hate these threads as they make me hungry and it's not even close to breakfast time yet!
  17. I tried making that one time! That darn Moose kept pulling his head out of the pot saying it was too damn hot!
  18. That's no good but I am finding it hard imagining being beaten up by a Gorilla!! A Wombat yes~
  19. Just because there's snow on the mountain cap it doesn't mean there's not a volcano raging inside...Grin~
  20. I didn't know you had these problems "A", do you a coeliac condition? I have a couple of friends that do, one of them my best mate and I see his struggle with finding things he likes to eat. I try hard to match what he's eating as I can't stand the thought of eating something he can't have in front of him. I understand about the gluten free bread and how hard it is to get something palatable and how expensive it is as I've followed the problem with Dave. I guess as we age there is more propensity for health problems. When we were younger these things would probably never have occurred to us, nor would we have realised how fragile our health can be. However, there is only one way to go and that is forward! Do you see yourself being able to back of work a bit, anytime soon?
  21. Interesting reading this actually and it seems that I don't have big lunches by comparison to some of you. I usually have a toasted sandwich or roll followed by an apple. Sometimes it might be reheated leftovers from earlier on, but not much really. I'm trying to cut back on the size of meals that I have as I was eating too much and that requires more insulin to counteract, then insulin is fattening, so a vicious circle. Cutting back allows me to reduce insulin too, I never have dessert!
  22. "watergate pistachio salad" Why "Watergate"? Full of bugs? Forgot to say I had muesli with sliced banana with apple juice instead of milk, for breakfast. Tomorrow (Saturday) brekkie is an egg & bacon roll!
  23. Dunno about lunch yet but tonight I was planning to do some chicken rolls, cheese and bacon. That is thinly cut/pounded chicken breast wrapped around a block of vintage cheddar and all wrapped with a nice smokey bacon. (Bit of spray oil and cooked on a grill or in a pan. Do not overcook!) Probably cut some small potatoes in half and sauté them and accompany with a whole cob of super sweet corn. Usually a BBQ dish but gonna be a bit inclement outside tonight. Maybe a thin gravy with a slightly apricot mustardy flavour? I did a large Rib Eye on the BBQ last night as I was on my own and it was to die for!
  24. I'm streaming Pandora through the house and currently have it on one of the Blues channels.. I'm listening to artists that I haven't heard before and appreciating the exposure and variety.
