  1. Went to a busy cafe in Sale about and hour west of home and grabbed some lunch yesterday. I had curried sausages and fried rice. It's been a long time since I've had curried snags and it was really nice.

Last night it was Chicken Mississippi and fried rice, so I don't have a fried rice deficit ATM...Grin~

  2. Home made hamburgers last night, it was almost warm enough to BBQ.

Vegemite & toast for brekkie today and haven't decided about lunch yet???

I ended up toasting a left over hamburger in the health grill and having two small aples. Then Gael got home and she's bought me a curry pie from town!

    I ate that too....burp!

A late invitation saw us out to tea at the RSL with friends and their married daughter. It was a fun night! I had the same chicken breast, Swiss cheese and mushroom dish I had on Monday night, still nice but 1/2 price (2 for 1 night)

I think my blood sugar will be up this morning as I ate too much yesterday.

  3. Fried spicy sweetcorn fritters (with enough fresh AND ground coriander to make Dig very sick!)

With a JDGM special dish of chopped cold chicken mixed with lots of chopped parsley, diced cucumber and mayo (you can use yogurt instead).

Couldn't resist opening my bottle of Californian White Zinfandel too, on this fine Spring evening.

    Cheers, YOLO!

    You've got a good memory!

  4. We finished pulling down our Easter Art show about 6.30 last night and decided to eat in town but the first place we wanted to go was closed. So was the pub we went to next....Grrrrr..Easter!

Ended up at the RSL (Returned & Services League) which isn't great food but occasionally you do get a really good one! That was the case last night!

We both had chicken fillet with grilled Swiss cheese and sliced mushrooms, with some kind of sauce. Gael had veggies and I had chips 7 salad.

    Yummo!

Bella was crying and licking when we got home as shed been inside on her own for over 5 hours so I threw her rope for a while before she went to bed.

  5. Tonight we had a small pie with left over ingredients from one we had last week. It was in the freezer for just such a night as this.

It wasn't a big pie but it was full of pie mix, which to remind you was beef, bacon & onion but with the onion and bacon put in late enough to impart flavour but to also keep the integrity and not break down. I concentrated the flavours rather than thickening it at the end.

Before you ask, yes I have tomato sauce on everything!

  6. Meals yesterday were what ever we could get when we got the opportunity, but last night we had school whiting fillets crumbed with chips peas and carrots. They were yum!

I bought them from the fishing fleet co-op the day before when I was in Lakes Entrance taking Bella to the vet.

More than enough for two of us, well 2 of us and a dog in fact, for $8.00.

  7. We had sausages because that's what we felt like, and some left over baked potatoes sliced and refried and a lovely golden egg with runny yolk and of course need I mention, tomato sauce!

Then a piece of bread & butter to mop up the yolk. Yummo!

Not quite health food but certainly what we felt like.

  8. This evening; grilled gammon steak with mustard, relish, salad (lots of parsley and cucumber) and much beetroot.

Followed by cheese and/or pate on seeded biscuits then a square of 81% cocoa Ecuador dark chocolate.

All with a bottle of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc I was given.

A wonderful banquet after a good days work.

So the square if choccie was 1mX1m? Perhaps just 12" X12"?

  9. Well I had a big brekky out yesterday, couple of poached eggs on toast, 2 sausages, heaps of bacon, mushrooms and a hash brown!

Then lunch out, a BLT toasted and a milk shake.

Teatime I was too full to have a proper meal so I had a bunch of grapes 2 x toasted Hot Crossed Buns and a handful of M&M's.

  10. Last night we had Chicken Cordon Bleu with small pieces of roast potato (square chips I call 'em), carrots & peas, then a fruit yoghurt and a few M&M's (yeah naughty I know).

My daughter & family are taking us out for brekky this morning for my birthday as S.I.L was in Melbourne working on Wednesday. Looking forward to it as it's not even 6 am and I'm already hungry!!

  11. I commenced my 71st swing around the sun yesterday and started with a community fundraiser breakfast....hob-nobbing with local politicians, the mayor etc and lots and lots of lovely local people. It was a nice start to my day! So it was eggs & bacon on toast with a sausage!

Last night a group of close friends and my daughter took me to favourite Asian restaurant and spoiled me rotten. It was a great end to a lovely day and I consider myself very lucky.

I had Sate' Chicken & fried rice and it was yummy.
