Played a '98 Standard through an AC30... it has one of the best tones I've heard. Deep and rich, even in the higher registers. But you really need to go play one to hear.... your ear will be different than mine.

Guitar Dater Project Your guitar was made at the Kalamazoo or Nashville Plant , USA approximately in: 1970, 1971 or 1972 /chuckle Glad I could nail that down for ya I'd insure it for a bazillion dollars... it's irreplaceable. Hope this helps!

Could just be me, but when I think of Epiphone guitars, I think of the nice, full sound of their hollow body electrics. I don't think GIbson when I think of hollow bodies... I think Epiphone. I understand the relationship with Gibson, but to me the Epi's will always be Les Paul copies. No argument on the "bang-for-the-buck". Hard to beat them for the price.

Dunno... the Gibson Showcase in Opry Mills workshop is pretty visable without a tour... but there may be one. I have always heard of folks "touring the Gibson Plant", even before Opry Mills. I guess I assumed it would be the Massman Drive location.

It's all good! Glad you got to play a Dove, too. Nashville is a great vacation place too. Hope y'all get a chance to come visit :).

The actual Gibson Mfg. plant is on Massman Drive. Opry Mills is the location of the Gibson Showcase... which is also a must see for Gibson fans.
