  1. Great, I did come across you a few times last week, when I was waiting for my guitar to be delivered, lots of stuff there for to look through.
  2. I bought a new gold top last week, prior to that, I bid on 4 second hand tops, ranging from 1998 to 2006. Most had scratches, dents etc. nothing major, I didn't win any of the auctions so I rang around, I managed to get a 2007 model (their last in stock at the shop) for only £10 more than most where on ebay... I am expecting it to fall apart in my hands, but so far so good. I did have a gold top 10 years ago for £350 (got it stolen), it had silver humbuckers, the new one has cream, which I believe reduce feedback or something, I'm no expert I paid £289 for the new one last week. I am a little worried that I am losing out on something, there seems to be differences in the guitar depending on the year, or am I wrong there. Thanks Lee
  3. Didn't know Epiphone had a youtube channel, great videos, more content would be better though. Anyone here got any youtube vids of them and their epiphone? Lee
  4. Cheers for that. ....don't know what I left Jimi off some of my favourite guitarists, his music made me pick up a guitar in the first place. I'm teaching my slide guitar too, so listening to a bit of Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson... probably for another post, but anyone here use a slide, is there a particular one that suits the les paul or particular strings etc. I have a metal slide, seems a little too tinny, or maybe I've not learnt enough yet. Lee
  5. Hi all, I'm a week into using my epi gold top, I was wondering if anyone knows what strings they fit on there as new? Also, what strings do people here use, what type of guage and what type of music do they play. Guitarists I like = Nice McCabe (The Verve), Mark Potter (Elbow), Stone Roses (John Squire) The Edge.... Thanks Lee
  6. Wow, great to see that the epiphone community is lively, I didn't expect too many replies, so glad there are like minded people to chat with. Just reading through the posts now. Lee
  7. Hi all, Long story cut short, I had a gold top les paul around 8 or 9 years ago, it got stolen after 4 years. I finally replaced it with what I thought was an identical one, turns out the pickups aren't silver like I remember they used to be, they are cream coloured. Can anyone shed any light on these new types of pickups, are they less expensive than the silver ones, is the sound as good etc. Appreciate any info. Thanks
  8. Hi all, I have just received my ephiphone les paul gold top, I am in the market for a strap, I thought it might also be a good idea to get some strap locks, can anyone make any recommendations? Thanks Lee
