  1. 339's come in both plain and figured tops, as far as the grain goes. Figured being the same as flamed. Maybe plain and gloss are the same thing.
  2. It's probably best not to buy a new Gibson unless the place has a return policy that allows you to get your money back if not satisfied. That works best for everybody, including Gibson.
  3. Lee Highway. The name has a nahce-lahk ring to it. It runs through this area and I'm running it all the tahm. O-var to Lowes on the west side, then maybe o-var to Lowes on the east side. Maybe head down to Tractor Supply for some, well, tractor supplies. My mother in law had a pizza joint on Lee Highway in the seventies. The first place with a beer license just outside of Kingsport, TN. Bikes, brawls, drunks, cops, politicians, back rooms, the whole shebang. Everything's named after Lee around here, if you know what I'm getting at. Makes a statement. Nahce man, just misunderstrood.
  4. I've always supported Gibson selling overpriced stuff. It keeps the Standards and Studios priced a little lower. I also support people paying too much for stuff. It keeps them happy. There's no way that modern management can just make good stuff for a good price. They have to make crazy expensive stuff until everybody's laughing and then they back off a hair but still have to try stuff to leave their mark on the world. Next they'll try something else to set the world on fire. Like selling reissues of Orville Gibson's old underwear or something. Just don't ever smash a Gibson SG publicly up like Hank Whatshisname did. That was the beginning of the end for him. Saying the old stuff wasn't good anymore and putting out the X-guitar and Robot tuning and that stuff. Like the person who gets their car stuck in the mud and just floors it until the car is buried up to it's neck.
  5. Thanks for the heads-up Nostradamus.
  6. One of our members, a guy named Trey Moore, passed away a few days ago. He lived near me and I fixed one of his Marshall amps one time. He a was 31. He was always on here showing off a new guitar or equipment. A very nice guy. He was a guy with some physical challenges that he had to deal with. His Dad was a well known drummer around here and Trey had lots of friends in the local music community. RIP Trey.
  7. People from a place that doesn't allow debate letting loose in the center of world democracy.
  8. I had a professor from Iran for a wastewater treatment class. Dr. Kharajian. He had a steep accent. He used to say "equals to" instead of "equals." He'd be like " Three times five equals to fifteen" and we'd be laughing and joking about it the whole time. He probably knew twelve languages for all I know.
  9. The problem with Fender reissues is that they're made to the same old marginal quality standards that all their amps are made. That's why they can stay competitive on the price. Mesa stuff is just way tougher. If the Gibson reissues are like Mesas as far as toughness goes, then there's really no comparison with Fender quality-wise.
  10. People arguing about stuff that's not theirs with people who don't have property rights. Couldn't we just go back to people beating each other up in Guitar Center?
  11. Thanks. I got lucky finding this thing.
  12. New HDPE foam for the bottom -
  13. It was 5 this morning. TVA set a new record with 34 zillion megawatts.
  14. I see a Mesa branded power tube in there. So whoever they're buying from...
  15. Picked the glue off with my fingernails - Inspected by Mo -
  16. Pulled the old foam off the bottom. To be replaced with higher density PE foam - New casters to fit the old holes -
  17. Need ads for Boomers. We have the ca$h. Ditch the outfit and play something stylish.
  18. You could still score the real thing for about the same or less than these reissues. I'd say they're priced about right. In fact, there's a 64 Skylark for 500 clams around here somewhere I need to grab... 😏
  19. There's definitely going to be a market for reissues of the old Gibson amps. Like the Falcon. They'll definitely sell. Maybe not in high numbers, but there's definitely lots of vintage Gibson amp fans out there. There's not a lot of old stuff for sale, and I don't think there's ever been a reissue of the Falcon. Here's a Skylark that came through our shop for some work -
