1. Nice one Alan.... I know that feeling from when I upgraded the harness in my Joe Pass the difference was very pleasing, like having brand new guitar.. Happy chopping mate....
2. Switchcraft switch not switching? does that mean that tiny lever on your guitar is now a "craft"............SHRIEK......get it changed fella....
3. just ordered mine http://forums.epiphone.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=14793
4. Right I will bring my Samick SG.....(best $137 I have ever spent, cracking little guitar) and you can have that and a chickens foot....but your not getting my E-by-G....
5. Hi Scratch I was half thinking of doing the soldering and fitting myself after doing my Joe Pass but now I have the harness in front of me it is not a job for the likes of me. The guy I bought my Epiphone Pacemaker amp from is a working musician and it is great he is a Beatles fan and loves Liverpool, so he has befriended me, and the upshot is he has great contacts, and one is the best Luthier in Stockholm.... He spoke to him and had a word, and I have his number so "depending on price" I want him to do it and cut me a bone nut and set the guitar up spot on. All depends on his schedule and availability.... I plan to phone him this afternoon when kids are sleeping.... You've waited long enough!!!!!...how do you think I feel!!!!....this is a full international plan being played out here...Canadian artisans make parts for Swedish Korean made guitars......all on a reasonable budget.....I am trying my best man.....Old Scratch can be very demanding....I think you want me to bring this finished Sheraton to the Crossroads for when we sign that deal....
6. Where would you find one like that Jerry and what would you reckon is the book price for one of those...?
7. That is a stunner sell it to me......Arf ARf ARf ARF....that looks like an original sheraton 1 with that frequensator..... It is interesting all the different recipes for a Sheraton and what little difference there is in this particular recipe and say a Riviera for example this 2007 Unsung version... different headstock, neck and neck inlay....but the main body of the guitar very similar. being a Hooker fan I think that Sheraton you have there is far more "authentic" than any of these full size humbucker JLH commemorative guitars.....I would like to own a guitar like that, but chances of finding one here in Sweden are very slim....Tyvarr (swedish for unfortunately). So the closest I can get to that recipe is a Riviera...
8. They are beautiful Sheratons.....no doubt would would really like a nice close up of that pickguard CB also is that Epiphone € on the pickguard painted or embossed...Hope yours is one of those Dluap123 we can not have enough of those on the forum....a big welcome to you...

10. Layboomo......The "abortion" is back if your assessment is right then if I wish I can spend US$3' date='305 for the honour of owning a guitar that will not intonate and is impossible to play......the selling blurb states "A fitting ode to the man himself! Gibson Les Paul"..... It seems if your claims are right A guitar can have a value of US$3,305 and probably appreciate even if it is an abortion as long as it has the moniker "Gibson" on it...... http://www.maxguitarstore.com/store/index.php?productID=5879
11. Hi Guys I need some help here...finalising some mods and what is a killer for me in my position is shipping costs, so to save on shipping costs does anyone now a store US, Europe that will stock all of the following who I can call and get the lot shipped in one parcel..... 3 packs DR Pure Blues Big-n-Heavy PHR-10/52 10 13 17 30 44 52 3 packs DR Pure Blues Medium PHR-10 10 13 17 26 36 46 4 black "witch hat" knobs with gold inlays (2 tone, 2 volume) (for USA, CTS, POTS) 1 black switch tip (for USA Switchcraft switch) Pickguard material 3 or 5 ply Black 2 mandolin style pickguard brackets 1 gold 1 nickel 1 small chromatic guitar tuner to go in guitar case There must be a supplier somewhere that can put all those in one box and ship them to me....
12. here is what I am trying to do...... here are some of the variations I will be able to get with the new harness and pickups so imagine the above but on a Sheraton with "Burstbuckers" "Tres Hombres" And here are a set of Burstbuckers out of phase on a Les Paul... That is what I am after now we will have to see....
13. Thanks Teegar you know the power of research.... two Burstbucker pickups $256 My handwound Jon Moore pickups $200 two mojotone harnesses $180 My two harnesses $150 So I have carefully crafted pickups and electrics for my beloved E-by-G and saved $86 into the bargain... PS thank you for your remarks about my "feeble fumblings" on the Levin. I promise once I have everything set up I will plug into my Pacemaker (very apt given my age ) put a low blues backing track on and run up and down the blues scale on the various settings. So you can get a feel of what the E-by-G is up to modified...
14. Thanks we went by the one on the Seymour Duncan site... but after discussions with Jon we made one change....
15. This is being left to a Luthier in Stockholm I will phone him Monday.... also a full set up and bone nut.....
16. Spent a lot of months researching and planning and mapped out what I wanted for my 1987 Sheraton. Contacted a guy in Canada Jon Moore, who could do the work I wanted done, gave him my specifications and finally after all those weeks of planning and waiting "They're here" My wife popped out to the garage and checked the post and said "You have a parcel".......... [biggrin] 1 set of hand wound pickups alnico II unpolished magnets gaussed by Jon, unpotted, 4 wire, 7.0k neck 7.9 bridge hand made maple spacers, like a carefully made set of Burstbucker 1's, Jon's equivalent pickups are called "Tres Hombres". 1 "Jimmy Page" wired 50's 335 harness with 4 pull/push CTS pots, 2 vitamin T caps, Switchcraft switch and jack. 1 50's 335 harness with 4 CTS pots, 2 vitamin T caps, Switchcraft switch and jack. So now the fun begins....
17. Smips you have given me an idea......what about a piece of clear, transparent plastic just over the width of the strings same thickness as a plectrum and about an inch wide interwoven between the strings between tailpiece and bridge would hardly be noticeable and would certainly dampen any unwanted sound from that area...Dennis probably just saw the Byrdland as a tool of his trade I know what you mean about the tape from an aesthetic point of view...
