  1. Nicely done, my friend. I like it a lot.
  2. At least Taylor throws-in a toga with each guitar.
  3. You know you’re getting old when you consider sneezing and peeing at the same time as multi-tasking.
  4. So, last night I goggled “Who gives a f%&^?,” and my name wasn’t there.
  5. If I’d had as many wives as I’ve had guitars, even the Mormons would have kicked me out. I’ve continuously swapped, sold guitars for over sixty years now. My oldest one is my Hummingbird, which I I’ve had for twenty years now. It’s not going anywhere.
  6. When I was about fifteen, I was booted from the Boy Scouts for eating Brownies.
  7. You better check with Jennifer first. She might be working on her paper clip collection.
  8. I’m old enough to remember when “stick it up your ***” was an insult and not a pickup line.
  9. What the hell! You can get an Esteban with an amp for $199.
  10. Through the years I’ve sold, traded, given-away more instruments than I can remember. Don’t know if I miss any of them. I guess I don’t think about them enough to miss them. I suspect that many of them have become great guitars for some people. Many of them I didn’t keep long or give them a chance to be “my” guitar. If I didn’t bond quickly with them, they were often gone in a few weeks or less. I’m real content with what I’ve got now…..at least for now.
  11. It’s really embarrassing when my dog sniffs someone’s crotch, because he’s a chihuahua and I have to lift him up.
  12. I called the Incontinent Hotline. They asked if I could hold.
  13. I try to play around 30 minutes or so each day. Some days I play for 2-3 hrs. Much of the time I’m just noodling-around, but every now-and-then I do try to add to my mundane techniques.
  14. It’s amazing the things that can be done. It’s “brave, new world.” This technology is in its infancy. Kind of scary to think of what some a-holes will be able to do with it———Won’t be long before people are having their lives ruined because an AI version of them appears in a crime.
  15. I know Gibsons are expensive, but prices are increasing on everything. Beyond that, I like Gibsons, and, if Gibson sold a $500 new guitar I’d probably wonder what shortcuts and concessions did they make. If someone wants or can only afford a low-mid range guitar, Yamaha ain’t bad at all.
  16. Damn you, motorcitychick…..lol…. Just when I’m content with my current stable, you bring another thoroughbred to my attention. We just sold our old house (moved into a bigger one) for more than expected and my boss of 53 years has given me permission to buy something nice for myself. I realize we “can’t take it with us” when we go, but we can sure-as-hell have fun with it while we’re here. ……I have always been drawn to the bigger guitars and I suspect I’ll be watching for this guitar. Thanks for the inspiration.
  17. Really sorry to hear this. Kind of suspected it was coming. I really enjoy a lot of his music. He was a good man, a patriot, a good father, a good human. One of those guys like Dylan, Cash, Prine….Different and cool without having to act “cool.”
  18. One of the ultimate “hippie chicks.” Loved her raspy vocals and sweet looks. Never heard a bit of scandal about her. God bless! RIP!
  19. Sick, but funny! I can laugh at most anything, including myself.
  20. -11 as I write this. Fortunately, there’s very little wind. Yesterday we were getting steady 30mph wind, down from over 40mph the night before. From what I’m hearing, there’s a heatwave moving-in and Tuesday should be up around 3-4 degrees.
  21. God, good job, David! You and Ben are killin’ me with these songs about “real” people. It’s great to dig-out an old song you wern’t quite satisfied with and turn it into a winner. Keep’ em coming! You guys are inspiring me.
  22. Superb, Ben! I love this kind of stuff! Memories of my two grandfathers…..Each carried a pocketknife and could use it for what seemed countless of reasons….and as you say, it was magical. Thanks for the memories…..and I envy your playing abilities.
  23. I started listening to this guy again. He’s written a lot about growing-up in a small Iowa town. He has his own guitar style and way of using words, kind of like Prine. I find my self identifying with much of his folksy/americana songs. Definitely worth a listen if you’re into the genres.
