  1. I got the pickups installed and got it back today!
  2. Thanks! I got them installed and got the guitar back today!
  3. He sure was, man! The best. Gentle, loyal giant. He was around 150 pounds. Haha, his size did intimidate people, but was the most gentle and amazing dog. I sure do remember that! Again, I wish they lived as long as we do.
  4. Thanks, man! I dropped it off at a local shop today to get the pickups installed. Excited to get it back with them in it! Going to bring back memories of the one I had as a kid. Haha, thanks, man! I wasn't using the grey link at the bottom. I was posting them how I always did when I first started posting pics here. Always worked until some time ago.
  5. Oh, man. I'm so sorry to hear this. I've been through this a few times and it was always super hard and I cried every time. It's hard to give advice on how to get through it because I still think about the ones that I have lost - even my Chow who passed when I was around 6 years old and I'm 30 now. The one that hit me the hardest was my first Newfoundland, Zeus. Big boy was with me from the age of 10 until 2 or 3 months before I turned 23. Big fella was the definition of perfect dog. I even had a couple of dreams about him after he passed, too. I'm sorry to here this, man! It's a shame they don't live as long as we do!
  6. I think I got it figured out now! I was doing it the way I always did, which was just copy and paste the link like I always did. Worked on here for me that way on here for awhile.
  7. So, I picked another guitar. Got another Epiphone Les Paul Standard. Picked it up off of Reverb. It's a 2004 year model and wine red. Korean made one. The pickups I got are the EMG Zakk Wylde pickups. Seen this on Reverb and had to have it. I used to have one just like this years ago when I was a kid that I got used that had been upgraded with the EMG Zakk Wylde set. That one was a little bit older than this one because that one had the stock Kluson style tuners where as this one has stock Grovers. Other than that, same guitar. Anyway, that was such a cool guitar and I've always regretted parting with it. So, I got this one that just like it and got the EMG Zakk Wylde pickups and I'm going to get them installed and make it just like the one I used to have. I guess you can sort of say it'll almost be like I never parted with it, haha. I'll post pics after the upgrade. Also, the guitar does feel and play very nice - like my old one.
  8. Thanks! I do that, but I copy and paste the link it says for forums and then I right click and hit paste. Someone else told me to remove a part of the link, too, to get it to work better. Weird, because it acts odd on here for me.
  9. Thanks! Man, I don't know why I have issues posting pics on this forum. I've done what people said on how. There is a horror movie relate forum that I am also apart of and I have no issue with pics there. Ugh! I use Imgur.
  10. So, I got the DiMarzio Super Distortion and DiMarzio PAF 36 Anniversary pickup set installed in my black 2002 Epiphone Les Paul Standard. I'm sure a lot of you are probably familiar with that set that a description probably isn't needed or at least with the Super Distortion. Yes, I went for an Ace Frehley vibe with this one. That's what he uses. I had a new DiMarzio jack installed, too. Only thing left to do is throw on that truss rod cover and install some strap locks. Got it fully set up right, too. Needed minor fret worrk on those bad spots where I mentioned it choking/fretting out on a couple of high frets while bending. Setup perfectly fine now. I'm pretty pleased with it. https://i.imgur.com/GctYoHt.jpg
  11. It's an Epiphone ES 339. Found it on Craigslist. One of my Dad's friends has one, too, in the exact same color. He brought it over one day and I really liked it a lot. Built very well and sounds very well, too. Actually feels pretty close to a real Gibson. Fast forward to the other day. I seen this one on Craigslist and it was the same model and color as the one my Dad's friend has. Picked it up today. It's in great shape. Sounds and plays great, too. Feels just like the one my Dad's friend has, too. Nice big neck. Also has push/pull coil splits, too. Been wanting a hollow or semi hollowbody in my collection. Found one that's a keeper. I've very happy with it. Also, I got a DiMarzio Super Distortion and a DiMarzio PAF 36th Anniversary pickup combo to throw in my black 2002 Epiphone Les Paul Standard. Going to drop it off to get installed tomorrow. Pics: https://i.imgur.com/rOqOmog.jpg https://i.imgur.com/UnExYoO.jpg
  12. Nice! I can play bass, too. I have 3 basses at the moment. A 2003 U.S.A. Fender Highway 1 Jazz Bass, a 2014 M.I.M Fender Jazz Bass that I upgraded with a tortoise shell pickguard and DiMarzio Model J pickups, and a 2019 M.I.M Fender Precision Bass that I just recently upgraded with a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound P-Bass pickup and a Puretone jack. Also, I always upgrade to straplocks no matter what. I use Dunlop's. I do have a couple of guitars with the DiMarzio's, too. For a bass amp, I have an old Peavey TNT 150 with built in chorus. I'd love to have an Ampeg one day, but this is serving me very well right now. Great amp!
  13. Thanks! The case actually isn't too big for it. I'd say it's about 95% snug. Not enough flop to worry about. I'm more worried about those couple of high frets on the high e string fretting/choking out while bending, though.
  14. Thanks! It's an aftermarket custom one. I found it on Reverb last year. Not sure who makes it. The ad doesn't state who makes it other than made in USA and limited. The seller appears to be a parts and accessories seller mainly, so I guess they either make them or have them made. GUITAR TRUSS ROD COVER - Custom Engraved - Fits EPIPHONE EPI - ACE FREHLEY KISS | Reverb
  15. So, this came in today from Reverb. It's a black 2002 Epiphone Les Paul Standard. Been considering another Epiphone Les Paul for awhile. Mainly to mod out because I'm happy with my Gibson's and I don't want to mess with them or change anything unless I absolutely have to. I guess everyone on here can tell and knows that I'm a diehard KISS fan, so I plan on eventually getting a creme Dimarzio Super Distortion for the bridge and a creme DiMarzio PAF for the neck and make it like a 2 pickup Ace Frehley style Les Paul. also found one of those cool Ace card truss rod cover, too. I also have a spare DiMarzio jack laying around, too, so I might as well use it, too. Needs a good setup, though. I have noticed that a couple of the high frets on the high e string fret out/choke out when bending on those couple of frets. I need to get that taken care of and I believe it'll be fine. https://i.imgur.com/nnTaRCa.jpg https://i.imgur.com/CdI5S1k.jpg
  16. Here's a better pic of the Standard. I also got this strap for it, too. Plan on installing some Dunlop strap locks and putting this strap with it. Had to do a lightning bolt strap. 😋
  17. LOL. I guess I can say insert every bass/bass player joke, here. 🤣😂
  18. Funny enough, I am left handed. My first guitar was right handed. Playing right handed just felt more natural and comfortable to me. I've tried picking up left handed guitars over the years for the heck of it and it felt so off.
  19. Sorry about that. I edited the post, so you should be able to click on the link. Imgur is weird for me on here, haha. Yeah, I ended up dropping a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound pickup in it.
  20. Ending up parting ways with my 1982 Gibson Les Paul Custom over the weekend. I always gravitated towards my Standards more. The owner I got it from missed it all these years, so I sold it back to him and ended up getting a beautiful 2001 tobacco burst Gibson Les Paul Standard that I found on Reverb. I've been wanting a tobacco burst Les Paul since I started playing. Bit of a win/win. Previous owner got his old guitar back and I got to get one I've wanted for years. And on the pickup review. I got that Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound pickup and Puretone jack installed in my Fender Precision Bass. I really like it a lot! Better than the stock pickup. Compared to the stock pickup, the Duncan is louder, fuller, and punchier. Guess you can also say on the warm side, too. https://i.imgur.com/DwppU6M.jpg
  21. Haha, I figured I'd get mentioned on this topic. 🤣 I would love to own one! Wouldn't mind having a Thunderbird anyway. I really liked the one with the red mirror pickguard that was teased awhile back, too. I am a bit surprised that he didn't do some sort of Grabber or Ripper bass like he played back in the day. I wonder if they'll play and feel closer to his Punisher and Axe basses or have more of a standard Gibson feel? I got to meet him at a Fanboy Expo event in 2017 in Knoxville and they had the high end Punisher and Axe basses on display for people to check out and they were actually super light and comfortable to hold and the necks were pretty comfortable, too.
  22. This came in today. Though it came a couple of days late, it is an awesome birthday gift from my Mom! I've always had a big love for horror movies since I was a little kid, so I collect horror movie stuff. It is a Friday The 13th Part 5 pic signed by Johnny Hock, Tom Morga, and **** Weiand. This came from a site called Horror Autographs, which is a great and legit site. They have a lot of cool stuff/collectibles to geek out over if you're a fan. I got some other things from them, too. Always been pleased. But, yeah, just thought I'd share. https://i.imgur.com/wIeCOO1.jpg
