  1. Letterman had Ryan Bingham as the musical guest tonight (Monday) performing solo "The Weary Kind" Great performance. Posted in case you are interested, and the video might be available on the show's Web site.
  2. I'm pumped about "Crazy Heart" opening here in Colorado this Friday. Jimmy Fallon had Maggie Gyllenhaal on as a guest tonight (Monday). She made a point to mention Bobby Gentry, Iris Dement, and Gillian Welch as great artists. Props to Maggie. I love those three ladies, so I might go jump off a bridge :-) Posted in case you are interested, and the video might be available on the show's Web site.
  3. L5Larry wrote: "I will also say that I prefer his original versions to the covers by the above named artists." Same here.
  4. I am approaching 58 and I have several Gibsons and Martins. I love acoustic guitar for the sound. It happens to be my favorite type of guitar. I don't have any electrics. That said, I plan on buying a Telecaster before long. I would like to add an electric guitar sound to the palette, and the preferred sound is Tele and tube amp.
  5. I'm a big, giant, huge, gargantuan, large, humongous, big fan of J.J. One of the most incredible-but-under-the-radar American masters ever. Been a fan since the '70s. I've only seen him perform once, and that was at the Whiskey in Hollywood in '81. The show started at 1:30 AM and went to about 4:00. Gotta love it. One of the best shows I've ever seen. It blew me away when he and Clapton did "Road to Escondido" since I had wished for years that they would record together. I think I could listen to "Head's in Georgia" a hundred times in a row. Hell, maybe I have! :) Thanks for the heads-up, Karen!!!
  6. Happy Holidays to all. For me it's the solstice, but may your celebrations be full of peace, happiness, and prosperity whatever your beliefs. And great music for 2010 !!!
  7. Just send me the K&K and your problem is solved I've wondered about the Duet, also. I've read good reviews and I'm getting closer to recording, too.

  9. Thanks for "The Weary Kind" guys. I'll be playin' it till my fingers don't work no more.
  10. Ryan Bingham??!! Three days and countin'' date=' Karen. My wife says Ryan's good looking scruffy or cleaned up. But she's from New Mexico, so she might be biased. :-) Here's the boys.... [img']http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee189/GreggCarter/TheBoys.jpg[/img]
