  1. I love the sound of them, but I confess that I don't know nearly enough cool chords to make one sound good.
  2. During the work week I use a Cuisinart coffee maker with a timer so the coffee is ready when I get out of the shower. But on the weekends I use a simple pour over rig like this one....
  3. In the inimitable words of my dearly departed father in law... the older you get, the less you can trust a fart.
  4. Florida born. Florida raised. Still in F-ing Florida. Born in Lauderdale (don't remember it). Raised in Gainesville (go Gators). Been on the NE coast for the last couple decades (best move I ever made).
  5. Good recommendation. I love rock bios and read a few every year so I'll check this one out. Another really good one - assuming you like Humble Pie - is "The Best Seat in the House" in which Jerry Shirley tells wonderfully detailed stories about his years as Humble Pie drummer. I recently read Bill Bruford's heady autobiography as well. Highly recommended if you are a fan of his drumming. Oh... Neil Peart's writing is great too. Wow.... just realized they are all drummers and I'm completely inept at drums. Weird.... anyway... .enjoy!
  6. Excellent album! The last one with Chris Youden singing. He left after this and Lonesome Dave took over.

    Books

I always have a few book going at once. Currently bouncing between these.... Fiction: Old Filth - Jane Gardam Non Fiction: A Brief History of Earth: Four Billion Years in Eight Chapters - Andrew H. Knoll Graphic/Comic: Saga, Book One Brian K. Vaughan (Writer) Fiona Staples (Illustrator)
  8. While not technically a documentary, I just watched CBGB from 2013. It's a fun bio-pic of Hilly and the rise of the CBGB venue. The soundtrack is excellent....
  9. I guess I never actually answered the knobs question: I tend to put reflector style knobs on my Gibsons because I like the look. The positioning of the knobs means I don't use them much anyway. Standard Strat knobs are fine on my Strats... and the volume knob is in a usable spot. I tend to leave the tones set... wide open on the neck and middle and rolled off a bit on the bridge (if they aren't wired that way I rewire them so they are). I like the highly knurled knobs on my Teles since one has to reach for the knob a bit. I've tried the flip control thing and it didn't help much as for reach. Lately I use a PRS onstage a lot and it has speed knobs which work well. Sometimes I'll rough them up a bit for grip.
  10. As much as I love the Eagles with Bernie Leadon.... when he quit, hiring Walsh was the right move. After the Long Run (I saw them on that tour) I'm not interested. What they did to Felder is inexcusable.
  11. Seems excessively cruel to suffocate them like that!
  12. Enough fuzz and the guitar model won't matter anyway! 🤣 But I use an SG anytime I want to get fuzzy and sludgy.
  13. I love both the Long Drink and the G&T.... recently had a French Negroni at a fancy restaurant, and boy was that a good gin based drink.
  14. Summer..... the only time of the year where it's cooler in NE Florida than a lot of the rest of the country! Upper 80s with a seabreeze is pleasant compared to a lot of the heartland in July and August. Of course it will be upper 80s until November.... but.... 😆
  15. You know.... living the dream, world tours, groupies, free Gibson guitars.... 🤩
  16. I use one snakehead style to go from my guitar to my pedalboard, but a standard one to go from there to my amp.
  17. Found my Imgur so let's see if this works. Should be pictures of our 3 year old hound, Buddy. He's our only pet but we do have four chickens too.
  18. Thanks, man. Yeah I let my Photobucket die when they wanted $$$, but I think I still have an Imgur account.
  19. Question..... I've been away from this site a while..... do you still have to use a photo host like Photobucket to post pics?
  20. They make a "snakehead" cable with no jacket on the last foot or so to run behind your strap better and won't scratch your guitar since the outer weave is super sturdy.
  21. Interesting. I've used DDG before, but tend to use Firefox. However, DDG has a Firefox plugin that I'm trying out now.
  22. Thanks, man. Hope you've been well. Place looks different... again 🙂
  23. Cheers. Glad you are still around.
