Yea, you're talking about the one be advertised on the face of the ad and current production model. The one the guy is playing on the video itself is not that model though.

The one being played in the video sure looks like the first run of 42 Banner reissue efforts of several years back, one of which I purchased then and still have today. Sounds like it also. And, I want to say I recall that video as from that time, but not 100% certain. The bridge and saddle were done as you see which bothered some folks because of the departure from original. One of the selling points attempted then was a combination of old and new (as in the bridge and drop in saddle). That guitar looks and sounds like that series. You guys remember that first try don't you? The sound sold me despite the modern bridge and saddle. edit: I recall a post where someone was having a hard time adjusting his playing style due to the boom and volume response. He had tried every string, etc. I replied about having to lighten my approach to find the real balance and sweet spot on mine. To this day the guitar responds best to a measured touch.

There you go poking at my 74 DEEELUXE Southern Jumbo again! 💪 The "Deluxe" has to be the extra wood the ample bridge plate utilizes. That was an expense to Gibson. It's my Edsel and Studebaker true, but they each do fine on Mercum.

I had forgotten I have a set on my J-45 with a torrefied . top. I tried them jt, after hearing your thoughts on them in the last pin discussion here. When I got the guitar out for it's go round last week it all came back so I posted about them existing. I really like the antique Gibson pins both looks and quality wise. The are well made. They did not make my bright J-45 any brighter and as I keep playing I am more impressed. As you said, light and hard. I have three unused sets that I am going to put to use now that I have given the antique Gibsons a fair chance.

Nice looking guitar, philfish. I spend more time than most getting my strings seated right and I suppose that is enough for me. But, I sure like your guitar and it looks as though the work has been well done which enhances all the way around the story. Well done.
