  1. I've got one, it's a first-rate case, the best I've ever had.
  2. I once read an article about Yairi guitars (made in Japan and mostly classical) where they leave completed guitars hung in a room playing music to them, apparently to make the wood understand it was now a guitar!
  3. I've just checked them out, they even have a Custom Shop! I wonder if they'll do you a Murphy aged pick🙂
  4. Yes Doug, I normally listen to Blues or music derived from it, but this bloke's great.
  5. I've been listening to this Islandic chap, it's not the sort of music that I would normally listen to, but I do thing he's interesting.
  6. No, it's a bit fiddly but no difficult getting them on or off.
  7. I use the "washers" from Grolsch beer bottles, the beer's awful but one has to make sacrifices.
  8. Yes Dub, I was expecting some volume difference but not as much as I actually finished up with. I never tried using it in a live scenario because I think getting the levels & tone right would have been just to much of a juggling act as I don't use any pedals.
  9. After trying reversing the magnet in the neck pickup but not reversing the pickup itself (so that it appeared as normal) I found the out of phase sound to be a little half hearted, so I reversed the pickup (as per Peter Green's). The effect was dramatic to say the least, the neck pickup became super loud because of the placement of the poll pieces I'm guessing, so I had to screw down the neck pickup and raise the bridge one. That had the desired effect but I still didn't sound like Peter Green, I can't think why☺️ The problems that I had with this mod, is when using the middle out of phase position it was a great deal quieter than when using individual pickups and as I wanted to use the out of phase sound for lead work, setting the levels for band practice just became a massive juggling act. I've now reverted the guitar back to it's original set-up.
  10. I guess I'm kind of lucky in this respect, my Wife has bought me a Gibson J15 (because she thought it sounded the best acoustic in Gibson's Memphis showroom) and an R8 (because I was born in 1958).
  11. I don't have any stickers on my guitars or case, I might consider it for the case if anyone was prepared to "hire" the space but I'm not holding my breath for this 🙂
  12. Another sad loss, it feels as though we're loosing influential at the rate of one a week! RIP David
  13. Enzo, I think the best thing to do is e-mail Gibson support with the serial number and photo's, they'll be able to tell you what it is, they are usually quite helpful.
  14. Enzo, welcome to the forum and your English is fine (a lot better than my French!). I believe your guitar is a Les Paul Recording model.
  15. As a side note, a couple of days ago, I read a newspaper article saying HMV the largest record shop chain in the U.K has been saved from it's demise by the recent revival of vinyl which rather surprised me.
  16. Oh, I thought you were just being thick.
  17. We've lost another great musician, I guess they are all getting to that kind of age. RIP Jeff
  18. Sorry, my fault entirely, I was meaning metaphorically, I shouldn't have just assumed everyone would understand that.
  19. I found this video interesting, Rhett and his chum comparing several PRS's with his Les Paul. I have to say, I agree with Rhett's point of view, whilst PRS's have excellent & consistent build quality, to me they are completely soulless.
  20. I don't think I could listen to an entire album of their music, but crikey they can certainly play.
  21. I know a lot of people on this forum like Peter Kay and as he's recently emerged from his self imposed hiatus, I thought some would like this interview with him:
  22. Very nice indeed! congratulations, you made a good choice.
