Many folks enjoy the 'new strings' sound and spend time and money changing strings often....perhaps for each performance....:blink: Personally I am less picky and find several month old strings have played in and are stable for tuning etc Makes sense for 12 string guitar in particular Nylon strings also take several days to settle in, so will not be changed every week for example.... V

We will gladly exchange advice and information on said Gibson For the equivalent on ukulele's.... V

Personal journey started with fingers on nylon strings Plectrum and fingers on Gibson SG Fingers on steel strung 6 and 12 string acoustics.....:blink: Currently settled on fingers on nylon strings....thumb pick and 3rd finger pick on 6 and 12 string acoustics Dunlop white and clear plastic L thumb pick plus same finger pick For some guitars and banjo with closer string to body spacing I file the thumb pick down to avoid hitting the top/vellum.... Pick Wisely and Often.... V

Hi t-m-m.....and welcome to the forums..... The issues described sound slightly vague unless they can be observed in person.... Fret height and fingerboard radius will play a part.....Gibson vs Fender.... Personally no issues experienced playing ES335 compared to Fender Strat and Tele..... Suggest you visit a friendly shop and play a different ES335 to make comparisons.... Talking face to face with guitar in hand to someone with knowledge should pinpoint any issues.... Good Luck....!! Without experience, shopping for vintage guitars can be a roller coaster.... As guitars get older, issues like neck warp, truss rod failure and need for a re-fret come under the spotlight.... Ideally a well respected, friendly guitar tech/luthier would be involved pre purchase to cast a knowledgeable eye over the instrument.... So if the guitar is advertised as 'excellent'....maybe contact the vendor and agree on a sale subject to professional examination..... Or if the guitar is reasonably priced, factor in some 'worst case scenario' repair work which may become necessary.... V

Interesting that the 'Scotch Egg' is 'nouvelle cuisine' in the States.... A hard boiled egg encapsulated in sausage meat with breadcrumbs overall.... OK as an occasional snack.....pubs in the UK also offer 'pickled eggs' for the drinker looking for a savoury taste....:blink: Our local supermarket offers low cost mini Scotch Eggs....they are actually scrambled egg based.... Which can be a bit disappointing to the purist.... Caveat Emptor...... V

Mrs V's speciality....:blink: Gourmet Breakfast.... Serves One..... Fry in olive oil an onion, optional tomato, chopped garlic Add some yesterday's boiled potato....mash lightly.... Whisk 2 eggs....add to the party.... Ground black pepper to taste Consume direct from the pan with crusty bread....toasted if desired..... Medium to Strong roast coffee.... Enjoy.... V

Here's a challenge and wheeze from Mr and Mrs V....... How sophisticated and healthy a meal (cooked) can be whistled up in the shortest time....? Not interested in competitive times....just the ethos of fast food preparation And enjoyment.... V

Farming, particularly family small holdings can be a big challenge from year to year... The supermarket accountants often gleefully run them in to the ground with aggressive demands regarding dairy and vegetable produce..(ridiculous 'perfect' shape for veg....low wholesale milk etc prices on a take it or leave it basis) Many farms in areas of natural beauty now have campsites on their land....no bad thing and often very tasteful.... Respect to the farmers....!!!..... V

Mrs V and I shop at a local supermarket weekly and enjoy picking up 'end of day' bargains like cheese and sandwiches for almost no money.... So today's breakfast was... Cheese and Tomato French Stick Cheese, pickle and gherkin Bagel Very nice indeed V

Guitars like this are often tone monsters.... IMO it won't sell much due to being 'a bit different'.... It is hard to prize folks away from the LP, Strat, Tele ubiquity.... V
