  1. I read elsewhere that the owner of the company had passed away last year. RIP
  2. Absolutely! I have 3 SGs, they all neck-dive to some extent. It's never been a problem though, because I play with 2 hands.
  3. I've recently acquired a MIC Casino and a MIC Riviera, and both came equipped with the signature white (w/b/w) pickguards. How do you folks feel about the white pickguards? Love em? Hate em? Don't care? Would you prefer black 3-ply on these models and the Casady bass? Or stick with the traditional white?
  4. OP, that's a beauty! I have one just like it, bought in late 2004. Mine is Lightburst. I think that's what yours is. I almost traded mine a couple years later for a new Lightburst one that was closer to the color of yours but decided to keep the one I had (have). My 137 is my favorite.
  5. It would be a good idea to run the serial number by Gibson customer service.
  6. Gorgeous 330! Congratulations and belated HNGD!
  7. The very reason I went wireless, I was constantly stepping on my cable & concerned that it would eventually cause damage to a guitar.
  8. Pass on it, there are plenty of real SGs, Gibson and Epiphone models.
  9. That’s a good looking 325. Did you ask the seller what’s up with the odd square area?
  10. Totally agree, I also have both, and would have said the same as you did.
  11. If you email Gibson Customer Service with your questions they will help.
  12. See my update from 2015. I didn’t use the JR / Special case, Those models don’t have carved tops. I used the case made for a LP Less Plus model, it’s the same size/shape as the 2014 LPMM. Both have carved tops. Perfect fit. 👍
  13. The horror! Nothing to be done but cut up that pos and throw it out.
  14. Thank you! L - R ES-137 Classic, ES-335 Figured, ES-339 Figured.
  15. My 137 Classic is the best guitar I've ever played. I didn't like the 498T bridge pickup so I put a 57 Classic in, which was a perfect fit for it. If you buy that 137 you won't regret it. And as @gampadoug commented, mine was also typical Gibson (IME), "absolutely perfect in every detail and quite beautiful!"
  16. Another vote for black top hats.
  17. Wth is the problem here? Good grief, a guitar is played using both hands. Just don't let go of the damn thing and it will be fine. Is SG neck dive a deal breaker? Do you play it or do you just walk around with it hanging loose? I guarantee that if I let go of the neck of any of my SGs it will head for the floor, so I don't let go of it. If you let go of the forearm stock of a rifle or shotgun the barrel will dive, too. Do you shoot with one hand?
  18. I'll play. 2004 ES137 Classic in Lightburst.
  19. My LP Studio Faded Mahogany. The mahogany with the Burstbuckers are a sweet-sounding combination. I love this LP.
  20. Thanks for the suggestions. You all know the 2014 Les Paul Melody Maker has a carved top like a Les Paul, right? Doesn't the (vintage or reissue) Melody Maker model have a flat top like a LP Jr or LP Special? Is the Melody Maker case thinner than a regular Les Paul case? Several have recommended that case but does anyone have firsthand experience using it specifically with the carved-top LPMM? Thanks. Update: Found a seller on ebay (The Stratosphere) who seems to part out guitars , they also sell the cases. I bought a new gold 2015 Gibson Les Paul Less Plus case from them and it's a perfect fit for my LPMM, and quite a bit lighter than the ESP case, too.
