  1. American made Bigsbys are "sandcast."..........Imports are "die cast." American are 'imperial', imports 'metric.' Sure, sandcasting results in a stronger product, but, both methods are just fine for the stresses Bigsbys take.......Of course, USA Bigsbys cost more.......The cheapest place I've found for Bigsbys are at "Amplified Parts"............For the P-90s, you might want to go with P-94s, basically P-90s in an HB size....They are real P-90s, but some claim they sound a bit different.....You COULD put a SD in the bridge, and a P-94 in both the middle and neck....A calibrated set can have have one P-94 reverse wound, thus eliminating hum when both are used at the same time......I prefer Gibson P-94s, and they are under a $100.00 each at "Amplified Parts." As the great "RaSTuS" says, the Wilkinson roller bridges are great....I bought and use some as a result of his advice...... They are also metric, so, they'll fit Epis without a problem.....I buy mine at "Guitar Fetish" for the cheapest price........As to the 6 way switch, that's not my area.......Check the Epi stock sizes vs the switch......The only drawback I can see in your mods are hurtin' fingers due to not being able to put the new geetar down..........................
  2. Wow...........How about that ???? I'd also like a Wildkat.........any colour.............
  3. No......They are imported from Tennesee.......
  4. PM box cleaned out ( a bit ) Clint....

  5. Congrats..........Nice guitar indeed............ [thumbup] ..........
  6. Santanu, the issue and discussions about Epiphone pickups is extensive......Remember, most of us on this forum own several guitars, and some like me own, um, er, ah, hmmm, many guitars........So we have a varied experience with different guitars and pickups......When guys like us have so much experience with many guitars, the differences become very apparent.......In your case, with just one SUPER FINE and REAL EPIPHONE LES PAUL, you will be more than happy with it's tone and sound......Myself, I prefer upgrading Epi Les Paul pickups to Gibson Classic '57s.....This is expensive.....Others upgrade to different brands of pickups, and many are happy with the stock pickups......So, unless you get a chance to play a Gibson Les Paul with it's pickups, then, by default, you won't hear the difference, and you'll be happy with your stock pickups, which actually are just fine.......Read the link by RaSTuS, it's interesting.. What I find most important right now is, that, the Epi you found appears to be the real deal, and not a fake or a copy...............................................................
  7. Yes, pics would be nice.....Some members ( and me ) use Photobucket, it's free............ As you may know, there are many fake Epiphones out there....Seeing as you bought yours from the U.S., there's a good chance it's real.........Congrats....Now you need a nice amp....We also know our amps...... [thumbup] .......
  8. That's wonderful.......I'm very happy for you........As far as the climate goes, what country are you in ??? This will help us help you... The jack is built for lots of use, however, they can go bad, get loose, etc etc....There's the washer on the outside of the jack; keep this tight....Wires will sometimes come loose....With some solder it can usually be fixed....Usually wiping the srings down after playing will make them last longer.......Others will add info, and will correct me ( ) when I'm wrong........ Once again, congrats.....Always ask us questions, we'll always be here Santanu........... [thumbup] [thumbup] .........
  9. We have solved all problems, except for a tiny mix-up in 1982 !!!!! .......
  10. I'm off for the day....I'll check in tomorrow......You'll get other answers as well......Your guitar is new, so, it's probably fine........
  11. Your case is fine....I was just joking......The switch switches between the two pickups...When UP, it's on the pickup near the neck..When down, the bridge pickup... In the middle, both pickups....The "bridge" pickup is "brighter."....And, turn all four knobs "clockwise" to the right, all the way...This will give you the "brightest" tone as well.. Also, check the settings on your little plugin amp.....There are several....See if this helps....If not, ask again....We'll solve this for you........
  12. Ah ha !!!!!! Epiphone Les Pauls do NOT like spending the night alone in their case.....Guitars have FEELINGS !!!!! You broke your guitar's heart !!!!! As such, it lost it's soul, and it's tone will never return !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ..... Welcome to the forum.....Your guitar has two volume and two tone knobs....For the clearest tone, turn these all the way up.... The other problem could be, the battery in your headphone amp died......Also, your guitar has two pickups, the upper bout switch switches between the two pickups....I'm assuming you are a newbie....(???)..Try these, and come back and ask more questions..............
  13. Welcome to the forums......

  14. Welcome to the forums......

  15. #1} I have Les Pauls with both pickup types.....You may want to research both types to get a full blown understanding on both types.... My preference are the '57 classics....There are also the '57 classic plus pickups; the same, just slightly hotter....The price of Gibby 57s rise and fall, a lot.....I buy them when they are around US 99.00 each.......As I can, I also put them in almost all my Les Paul guitars...... I do keep some LPs with various Burstbuckers though, because they are different than 57s....... #2} Dice Knobs; I simply took regular dice, drilled the right size holes, and put them on a Strat...(666, as my name is Damian).... #3} I'm all for modding, cutting, etc etc....Just know what you are doing.......Just remember that MOST studios are chambered, so, don't be buring through the top.......
  16. I use REAPER, Sonar Producer X-1, Superior Drummer 2.0, BDF drums, and a KorgD3200........... And, I work with producers who know their stuff.............
  17. Congrats on your new SG.....You can install a new strap button anywhere on your guitar...... It's not a high end guitar, so the value won't be hurt............. ( I love my Chinese made guitars, well built by good people...)
  18. Good list of friends !!!!!Welcome to the forum....Damian...

  19. dem00n and the dem00nettes................Their rendition of Black Sabbath's first album....... [thumbup] ......
  20. Bi polar, PTSD and other fun stuff messes with my sleep....I've now been up for three days....( no drugs, no booze )... It passes, then I sleep well.........I keep busy with studies and recording....................
