  1. Well, here's my six month review as the "honeymoon" is now well over. This is still my favorite guitar out of my small collection. I liked it so much better than my Gibson LP Studio Deluxe that I sold the Gibby on EBay. I just never played the Gibson except to A/B it against my Epi. The Epi always won based on both playability and tone, not to mention looks and "feel". If I were blindfolded and asked to tell the expensive from the inexpensive guitar I would have guessed wrong every time as I expect a lot of "guitar snobs" would too. GO EPIPHONE!
  2. I've got the ES339 Pro with the humbuckers and think I might like to add one with the P90's to my ever growing collection. Everything I've heard about them has been excellent. Good luck with yours I hope you enjoy it.
  3. I got mine at Sweetwater and was very pleased with their service. All the big box stores sell them for around the same price. Maybe go to GC and try out a few.
  4. I have the 1960 Tribute Plus in Black Cherry and it's easily the best sounding easiest to play Les Paul I've ever owned. The quality of the build is fantastic and it's tone is top notch. I still can't believe the quality to price factor. I can't say enough good things about it.
  5. TAAAAA DAAAAAAAA! [thumbup] [thumbup] Thank you very much. Somehow I stuck the image in ksdaddy's post too. Whoops PS: I LOVE this guitar!
  6. I tried it but I must have done something wrong. It puts the url in the post and if you click on it the pic comes up, but it doesn't put the actual picture in the post. Any idea what I'm not doing right? http://i821.photobucket.com/albums/zz137/satv46/F327474-front-large.jpg
  7. Well, you started out with a very good one. Best of luck with it.
  8. Thanks guys, I'll try it. I have a photobucket account so away I go. Thanks again.
  9. I see a lot of members post beautiful full size pics. Mine always go in as thumbnails. What am I doing wrong? HELP! http://i821.photobucket.com/albums/zz137/satv46/F327474-front-large.jpg
  10. Here's my LP 1960 Tribute Plus. Shot is of the actual guitar from Sweetwater. (They take better shots than me)
  11. I have both on various guitars. I like the looks of the hat knobs, but prefer the feel of the speed knobs especially with the push/pull function.. Go figure.
  12. I've had my Black Cherry LP 1960 Tribute Plus for about a month now and even thought the honeymoon is over, I still love it. It's my new "go to" guitar. Anyone else own one of these tone monsters and what do you think of it?
  13. LOVE the headstock logo. Very cool guitar!
  14. Having read all the previous LP weight related issues and agreeing that it's in the tone and playability, not necessary the weight. I recently bought a new Epi LP 1960 Tribute Plus at 9.8 lbs from Sweetwater. They had four of them on their websight and being online I obviously couldn't "road test" any of them. So I picked the porkiest one. I couldn't be more pleased with the guitar. I also have a 2010 Gibby LP Studio Deluxe at 8 lbs (weight relieved). I realize that any comparisons are not apples to apples due to different pickups, but the Epi sustains longer, and IMO has a nicer, deeper tone and is more fun to play. Good luck with your choice.
  15. I have the same guitar and no problems. In fact it's one of easiest guitar I've ever played. Wish I could help.
  16. I've had my new Black Cherry LP 1960 Tribute Plus for about a month now so the honeymoon is about over. I still can't believe this thing. I have an '09 Gibson LP Standard and I like this thing better. More comfortable neck(for me anyway), smoother crystal clear tone, the ability to have the pickups in normal (series)or parallel mode, all Gibson electrics (57 Classic Humbuckers, Mallory pots, Switchcraft switches and jack)and locking tuners among other things. A beautiful Black Cherry finish. All of this for $700 including a hardshell case. WOW! Go Epiphone!
  17. As was said before, beauty is in the ear of the beholder. I have a 2012 ES-339 with the Probuckers in it and I'm fine with the tone. It sounds very rich and full going thru my Peavy Delta Blues 115 amp. Maybe the 15" speaker helps out. Not sure, but I know that I do like them.
  18. I've got a 339 Pro in Vintage Sunburst with the humbuckers and love it. That said, I've always been a big P90 fan. I'm going to start looking around for a black one as I'm just not a fan of the natural finish and the black one looks amazing.
  19. I've had my vintage sunburst ES339 Pro for about three months now. I can't believe the quality of this guitar and the tone is amazing. I also own a 2009 Gibson LP Std and a 2010 Gibson SG Std and this Epi is just as good in build quality as either of them. I know they have the lacquer finish instead of the polyurethane, and the Gibsons take much longer to build, but bang for the buck, the Epi eats their lunches! It's my go to guitar. I love it!
  20. Oh yeah, it has the rosewood fretboard, but if it were maple it wouldn't bother me at all. Fender has been doing quite well with maple necks and boards for years. I've got two of them and they play and sound just fine. My Tele has a maple board and my Strat has a rosewood board. I chose the boards when I bought the guitars for the way the color complimented the body color. They both play and sound great.
  21. I have a 2010 LP Studio Deluxe and absolutly love it. Wouldn't sell it for anything. No frills, fast neck, excellent tone. All around great guitar. Good luck with yours. ENJOY!
