  1. I know what you mean. The past few years, the quality at Gibson has gone down. I just visited the House of Guitars in Rochester NY to pick up a Les Paul special in TV yellow. I was gassin' for one. The quality was terrible. The binding was a dull yellow color, not a nice clean off white. The machine heads were also a yellowy color, not the white buttons or even the green machine heads. I opted for a Gretsch as the quality was much better for the same price. I have been a faithfull Gibson buyer for years but this was just dissapointing.
  2. if the Gibson has P90 pickups, you could just be experiencing the 60 cycle hum that all single coils seem to get. I have a few guitars with P90's and they all get the hum. Depending on the club, some times its pretty unbearable. I always carry a guitar with humbuckers to a gig just to avoid this problem.
  3. finding a guitar in a closet is always a good thing. When it's a Gibson, that's golden!
  4. the guitar sounds great, but man, I dig your voice. There is a feeling there that most of us never get. You got it man!
  5. I think it's brilliant. I loved it. Reminds me of Canadian singer songwriter Ron Sexsmith. It's a keeper. Nice work.
  6. I was just there last week and went on the tour, it was very cool.
  7. boy, that brings back memories, I loved those guys.
  8. I'm from Canada and just never got into these guys. Mind you, Rick Emmit is a great guitarist. Now RUSH on the other hand, is a Canadian trio I dig.
  9. I would of loved to have taken some pics. But they emphasized NO PICS a few times, so I behaved.
  10. well the tour was very cool. No pics allowed, sorry guys. And yes, the prices in the store were very high. All I left with was a Gibson tin of 50 pics and a T Shirt. All in all, it was a good day.
  11. hey T Bone, I did hit Gruhn guitars. Beautiful stuff but man the prices were high. They had a Les Paul Special in TV yellow for only $9500.00. Needless to say, it stayed on the rack.
  12. Hi all, just wanted to let you guys know that I will be touring the Gibson Custom Shop in Memphis tomorrow. I'm in Nashville on vacation and a visit to Gibson is a must. I am so stoked, I can't wait. Tomorrow just might be NGD!
  13. I have a Peavey Classic 30. There is no jack from the speaker that I can unplug. The speaker leads go right into the bottom of the chassis and are clipped on tp the speaker. Krock - Actually, the talk box goes between the amp and the main speaker. The tube is clipped to a microphone and the microphone picks up the sound from your mouth and amplifies it through the sound system. My dilema is connecting the talk box between the speaker and chassis.
