  1. No repairs and nothing major, just wear around the middle and normal aging. Looks great. $3-4K was what I was looking for.
  2. I would like to determine the value and possible sale of a Gibson J-50 I purchaed in 1959/60 at Forbes Piano in Anniston, AL. It is in excellent condition with minor wear. It has been babied and loved over these past 50+ years. Here is the serial number/FON number from inside the body of the guitar: R 2740 6 From researching I have determined that R = 1960 Model; 2740 = Order Number; 6 = number 6 produced in total of 40 lot production. Can anyone else share more information or know of the best place to sell? I am located in central Alabama. Thanks, Tim
  3. My Dad purchased a Gibson mandolin in the late 50's. I would like to find out what the value of the mandolin would be. Inside the mandolin (you can see through one of the "f" holes), there is a stamped number: X8888 11. From other information I have found, I think the mandolin was made in 1954 and was number 11 in the series of 40 produced. Does anyone have an estimated value? It is in very good condition and a real beauty. Thanks, Tim
