  1. I started off using Cubase AI 4.5 a long time ago (it came with some piece of Yamaha gear I bought) and have worked my way up to a Pro 11 setup now. The learning curve was a little steep at first but there's lots of good YouTube stuff out there that helps. It's running on a dedicated PC right now. I'm not sure if I'll keep using it though - Steinberg has announced they're going to an annual license scheme with built in upgrades rather than the perpetual license (buy and use that version forever) they have now.
  2. According to what I saw at the Play It Loud exhibition at the Met he used it for the Yardbirds and for Zepplin on Kashmir, When the Levee Breaks, In My Time of Dying, and Black Mountain Side. Tuning was DADGAD.
  3. I have always tuned my Strats w/ locking tuners down, but everything else I tune up. Funny though, the Strats are the most stable guitars I have so I guess it works.
  4. Acoustic? My Yairi WY-1: Electric would be the 12 String Strat:
  5. That means Gilmore gets about $15 million of it. The buyers premium is usually about 20% plus there are other fees and taxes. I just missed going to see the showing when we were in New York over Memorial Day weekend. I think it opened the day we left.
  6. I hadn't seen anyone comment on this yet but we were in New York this weekend (my wife was singing in a choir at Carnegie Hall) , but for any of you who are planning on being in NYC anytime between now and October, this is definitely worth the price of admission: https://www.metmuseum.org/exhibitions/listings/2019/play-it-loud Jimmy Page contributed a bunch of stuff to it, but there are lots of interesting iconic instruments and a few short interivews.
  7. Wild Horses - acoustic. Alternating between the 12 string and Nashville tuning on a 6. Can't really decide what I like better.
  8. Wish You Were here on the acoustics. Got the 12 string part nailed, now working on the solos.
  9. I don't see a wound 19 anyplace in their catalog. That's going to be the problem here.
  10. One other thing would be to check for an L-5 string set. Gibson discontinued them back around 2013 I think but you might be able to find a few sets on Ebay. There's at least one in the EU: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gibson-L-5-cordiera-per-chitarra-elettrica-SEG-900L/332507037645?hash=item4d6af6bfcd:g:6tgAAOSwaSZaTHWr Eventually you'll have to build your own or find something else that works.
  11. Just buy singles and make up your own set. It will cost about twice as much but you'll be able to match what you have.
  12. I got "Nowhere Man" as an earworm a week ago so it seemed like a good time to work on it. Besides, I haven't played the Strat through the Vox amp in a long time.
  13. Those were on my list about 6 months ago. Currently it's Disney Girls (Beach Boys/Bruce Johnson) and Bluebird (Buffalo Springfield) along with whatever catches my ear from my iPod if that's playing in the office. The iPod has most of my CD's on it so there are something like 9800 songs played in shuffle mode.
  14. Send pictures for the guitar and the serial number to Gibson Customer support. They should be able to at least tell you if the serial number matches the guitar. My guess would be that someone modified it. The serial number seems to fit a 2010, but could be just odd..
  15. You said you ran the serial number. Where? If it was Guitar Dater it's not that accurate. Will you give us the first 6 digits of the number? the 1995 - 2005 had 17th fret neck joins along with some of the Japan market ones.
  16. My 2005 MIK only has a serial number on the label, nothing stamped anyplace.
  17. The Guitar Dater Project is notoriously bad, particularly on older guitars. It's maybe better on Fender than Gibson brands. Your best bet is to do a little research on the company websites. Most of them have dating info that Guitar Dater only can generalize.
  18. I did a little more looking, apparently Muse wasn't that good at keeping to Epi standards for serial numbers. There are a bunch of threads here about similar ones. Probably a 2002 or 2003 - you could call Gibson Customer Service and they might be able to figure out when it came into the country.: http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/57776-used-epiphone/ http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/51515-fake-epiphone-les-paul-special-ll/
  19. People may be asking what year it was made because the serial number is strange. It appears to be in <Factory Code/YY/MM/sequence number> format. MC would be Muse (China), but 22 as the year number isn't really an option (1922?) Or maybe I'm just reading the number wrong in the photo?
  20. The quality on the non-stamped books is hit or miss. Printed in China, poor bindings, crappy materials although the reproduction of the photos isn't too bad. I went through three on Amazon before I got one that didn't have pages falling out or printing errors.
  21. I found your word for word identical post on a different forum from 4 years ago. Past that, nothing that you probably haven't already seen.
  22. Yep - http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Archtop/Inspired-by-John-Lennon-Casino.aspx You have to go back to the "Hardware" page to find out about the toggle.
  23. Nathan

If you're interested in the Casino I was hoping to get around $400+ for it. Make an offer. Original Epi case (grey lining) most of the case candy (including the cheesey cable). No strap (it's got a Moody "vintage" on it that retailed for $130 new), I'll leave the Schaller straplocks on it if you want them. PM me back or email at
