  1. that's all very well, Hardmodskin, however the whole pin thing is pointless because your guitar is upside down!!!! Gibson QC fail again. Don't they even know which way is up any more? I love GIbson. PS RE Pins, I Have bone, ebony, tusq, or FWI, on all my guitars. Each material is different. Not one of my guitars still has plastic, except the ES330 saddles which are the best!
  2. HI, just wondering if others have a thought about what strings worked best on the J45 LEGEND in particular, mine is an early one, 2006. Any J45 really of course. I keep coming back to Martin SP PB lights on this guitar. Its either those or Newtone mediums in PB (hard to get here in Australia). I play this one mostly with a pick, sometimes fingerstyle and am after a strong clear but warm tone, hence PB. any thoughts? regards, Neil. borrowed image... For drooling...
  3. Absolutely LOVE bone on my old 60s bird, brightens her up just right, can't speak for a newer one though, worth a try!?
  4. ONe more time: what strings are people using on their Legend J-45, MEDIUMS? I AM MAKING MY WAY THROUGH A RANGE, CURRENTLY ENJOYING NEWTONES, BUT WONDER ABOUT LIGHTER MEDIUMS, BAD IDEA?
  5. I don't have any sound clips available right now, sorry. You'd sure want to try the neck befor egetting one, because if you don't like baseball bats then it may not be for you. I love mine.
  6. HI< this is my first post here. I am a regular contributor over at UMGF but have always been a Gibson lover too. My Legend 1942 J-45 is without doubt my most amazing, beguiling, responsive and wonderful to play guitar. I don't find the neck at all a problem compared to the long-scale chunky necks. I love the feel of the neck. THE playability is incredible and she is getting better every day. I have struck gold with Newtone Masterclass Mediums, bone pins - wow, what presence and evenness, it is deceptively good this guitar. You don't realise just how good until you put her in the mix wi
