  1. when I was at Bee3 King of Prussia in 92/3 The Japan buyers had 3 40 foot trailers full of purchases. Chinery was visiting our table , , Gruhn beside us., Jim Danz from Island guitars across the isle had all there minions asking , excuse me. Whats in the case as the Japanese are throwing out the cash. , quite a show.
  2. Is the top a x brace or ladder? There pretty nice guitars.
  3. That L00 is a interesting guitar. The bridge is not original though. also is the archtop a L48? Never seen one with a flat back and printed block gold logo. ( either the neck was replaced or the logo was changed at some point) are there any numbers in those guitars? Neck block or on the back?
  4. But a wiser stupid I bet. 😬 . Dont be offended like my teacher. Thats what got me punted in the first place. 😀
  5. I remember to this day my teacher telling me to get the fk out of my class. I never had a problem with that one.
  6. Gibson les pauls were never consistent. Necks seem to change on every model and every guitar. Some flat some thick , some narrow , some fat. I remember seeing that version. Its different for sure.
  7. I do have a few J45s. There a great guitar. Want I mean by muddier is its just as brightly toned as a J35. Im sure bracing as alot to do with it. I have a few J35s as well. You can hear the difference for sure. so muddier might not of been the right word to use.
  8. The J35 will have a crisp tone. Very sharp. Much better on attack of the strings the J45 will be muddier and deeper in tone. But still have that chime there both good guitars.
  9. None of the historic models are the same as the originals.
  10. The CS model is a custom shop. That one you pictured. Looks like a 300.00 guitar. . I see a few red flags on that one.
  11. Hi. It is a L50. Keep the old machine heads. Buttons can be replaced.
  12. If I could handle one of his songs once in a twenty year period. That would be enough for me
  13. Nice. I have a had a few of those over the years good little amps A year ago I got a 1960 Fender 3 leg steel with the Princeton tweed. They were sold as a set.
  14. I heard on the Radio this morning. Heard of her Passing this afternoon. Sincere Condolences .
  15. No. Not how the 60s guitars work. It looks to date to a 1965 by the number. The serial number looks like it though. But not the case. it the mid 80s they went to a 1 and 5 digit to give a year. Then it changes to a different way of id.
  16. The straw that broke the camels back. Was when the US side decided to implement a Import tax and shipping. Shipping was pretty much double the amount . from what the average sale amount. The tax was added whether you bought a 5.00 item or a 1000.00 item. most US sellers had no idea that this was added to there selling platform. It was automatically added. It was the sellers option after the fact to opt out of the import /shipping set by the broker for ebay. anything related to this shipping/import was sent to a certain broker hub. Then the pay for twice shipping to our door. Just a big scam and money grab. when we see a set of strings on ebay for 7.99. Check the import /shipping fees. You could buy a box of strings up here and then some.
  17. Well. Headstock first? Script logo or print logo? lower bout? 16” wide? Tailpiece? Single diamond? pickguard bound? Fingerboard bound? Look inside at the neck block. A letter and numbers? Some of these had nothing. So you go by the details of instrument.
  18. For 1600. ? Not bad. Enjoy it. I would still recommend getting it checked out and set up. congrats.
  19. Im not a fan of double guards. I moved those along a while back.
  20. I stopped and cancelled my acc , 7 years agos. The rules changed. The fees were to high.
