  1. Kansas Leftoverture Live & Beyond (double CD) Saw these guys live earlier this year & this new double album captures the sound & the emotions of their live performances perfectly. Love this band! :o
  2. It's strung with the strings that came with it - acoustic. No plans to change them. Just enjoying the new git :)
  3. The first amp I plugged into was this one: But then I ran her through my usual acoustic amps (SWR)
  4. The neck is a 1960's Slim Taper D profile and it feels perfect - very easy on the hands and playability is surprisingly good for such an inexpensive guitar. She sounds very good both plugged in & unplugged - spruce top with select mahongany back & sides are responsible for that. I've read a few negative comments about the pickup on these models being weak or lacking bass response - I don't hear that at all. I would gig with this with no concerns. I'm very happy with this purchase. For comparitive views I own Martins & Gibsons as well so it's not like this was my first purchase in this realm. Love it love it love it
  5. It's here! And as others have noted - the "e" fell right off the pick guard right away. That's fine with me as it would most definitely got whacked off of there while playing it The guitar is stunning. I expected a satin type finish & it's beautifully glossy and feels great to play. I haven't plugged it in yet - just enjoying it unplugged so far.
  6. FINALLY this girl will be arriving this week! I hate when I order something that says it's "In Stock & Ready to Ship" to being backordered & waiting weeks for them to get them in stock. Anyhow I got the "Your item has shipped" notice last night so will post up photos when she gets here :)
  7. Thank you Sir! I'll let you know when she gets here the results of my messing around with her :)
  8. Thank you Cougar! I'm looking for enablers. I read other reviews about that pickup that speak to the issue you addressed but I have a plethora of gear to pump up the volume on that little fellar
  9. I've been eyeballing these because I'm a long time Beatles fan & these guitars are inexpensive which makes me wonder - how do they sound? How's the playability & feel? Any owners care to share your impressions? Thanks! :)
  10. This guy is building them: https://reverb.com/item/2335079-buggfx-5-button-footswitch-for-trace-elliot-speed-twin-gibson-super-goldtone-amplifier
  11. Yes I agree. The pinstripes may be why this particular model is on sale & what makes it unattractive to me. But still - $800 isn't chump change either. ;)
  12. On sale now at Musicians Friend for $799 :) Includes Hard Shell Case http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/gibson-2013-n-225-electric-guitar I'm not in the market & really don't like the pinstripes but just posting this for anyone who is jonesing for one. I do like the pup configuration B)
  13. Bonnie Raitt's new album release "Dig in Deep". Love Bonnie Raitt
  14. Killer band with one of the hottest female drummers on the planet! Not just to look at - she's really a great drummer!!! Check her out on YouTube
  15. That is one of the most interesting things about Jim Morrison I've ever read. Wow. Thanks for sharing!
  16. Well thank you brother Bill but I'm not sure I've helped him or not. Haven't heard back from him & not even sure his friend still owns the amp but THANK YOU for the compliment Sir! Edit: Oooo I see it sold already! Hope it was that guy!
  17. Well 2 years later I found one for your friend. Don't know if he still has the amp or not after all this time but here's the footswitch for sale on Reverb for $100 in case you're even still checking in here. This is not my ad. Here's the link: https://reverb.com/item/785069-gibson-super-goldtone-foot-controller Also private messaged & emailed you. I hope if your friend still has that amp he can jump on this - these things never come up for sale. Ok then, I'm done here
  18. Well thankfully it isn't that way very often. :) This is truly one of the most helpful forums on the net 99% of the time. I'm no expert on the J45's as I just bought myself a used J45 Custom a few months ago. If you can try some out locally please do that because, for me & most of us here (I think), we know it's the right one when we hold it in our hands. This is a big investment and the only one that has to be satisfied in this purchase Sir - is YOU. If you can't find one locally that really feels right to you, do as others have suggested and seek out those dealers that will allow you to easily return/exchange until you find the one for you! Enjoy yourself, there's no rush here. And when you do find "the one", may it bring you decades of great music and enjoyment! And of course we love guitar porn here so if you could post some pictures after the fact - we would love that. Welcome to the Gibson forum!
