Hi Californiaman, never tried the piano lacquer, from what I can tell I don't have the right equipment to get it to the caliber you would want to match. I can do a black lacquer but it would not be thick and glossy like nitro on a guitar. It's one of my favorite finishes but not easy by any means.

Hi TommyK, just wanted to make sure you knew I was not trying to cross swords, just playing around about the outdoor thing, I actually like the idea because like you say, less to lug around, especially if you own an outdoor stage venue. Great idea. My best regards to you, Josh
