  1. "River of Love" -George Strait DOUBLE POINTS!
  2. Sweet Pea - Tommy Roe "I Gotta Go" -Robert Earle Keen
  3. Well, I would hate for your 2012 Thanksgiving be remembered by what becomes known as 'the carmel pie incident'.
  4. "Cherokee Boogie" -Moon Mullican http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ry745OAWAD8
  5. I always liked that song. Glad to know they can still lay it down.
  6. The BEST and EASIEST caramel pie EVER! Get a can of sweetened condensed milk and remove the label. Place it in a pot and cover with water. Cook on high until water comes to a boil, then turn on medium/high for 4 hours, adding water to keep the can covered. Carefully open can. (And I mean carefully, it is very hot) Pour contents into graham cracker pie shell. Cool pie in refrigerator. When completely cooled, top with frozen whipped topping. Serve.
  7. JT is one of those rare artists, (rare for me, anyway) that i never get tired of hearing. For me, his is to popular music what Don Williams is to country music. He just sounds like home to me. Here is my favorite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEXWECGhVoA
  8. Open Mic Night (Term used by bars and clubs to get more people in the venue because it's like having a band with 30 lead singers that work for free! They all bring their girlfriend/boyfriend, buddies, etc. Hire extra wait staff) Writer's Night (Term used by bars and clubs as a way to have live music without paying a band at all. These people also travel with friends. Hire extra wait staff) Karaoke (term used by bars and clubs as a combination live music simulation/comedy night. Many of these people need liquid courage to perform. Hire 2 extra waitreses.)
  9. I'd never say never. Experts will tell you that there are no black panthers in our part of the world, but they are wrong. But then again, how do you become the expert in the absence of something. Seems like that would be a pretty easy gig.
  10. "Come On, Get Happy" -The Partridge Family http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4xQ5qwwQoc
  11. Don Henley and Willie Nelson. Both write lyrics that I 'get'.
  12. Being a Southerner, I HATE those redneck type Christmas songs. They are NOT how we celebrate Christmas at my house. In that spirit, here is, in my opinion, the worst country Christmas representative... and the best one...
  13. "Will The Wolf Survive" -Waylon Jennings
  14. "Billy, Don't Be A Hero" -Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods
  15. I like the Cardinals and have followed them for a long time but I've never seen such a total meltdown of a team since...well, the Yankees last week. At least the Yankees looked like they were out of gas from the start. St. Louis came in playing well and were one win away when the wheels completely came off. Should be a good series, though. The Giants are HOT right now, but the Tigers are loaded. I say Detroit wins it in 6.
  16. Once again, we see that the unforgivable sin in sports is having the audacity to deny an accusation. I think about the steroids issue in baseball. Lots of guys were implicated and some were smart enough to admit to it early on. Andy Petitte and Jason Giambi both admitted to using and it was quickly forgotten. Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds, and other high profile players denied it and they became the face of the issue. I believe Pete Rose would be in the Hall of Fame today if he'd come clean about his gambling early on instead of lying about it. The buying public can forgive a cheater, but apparently despises a liar. Lance Armstrong is just another in a list of athletes who thought he could outlast his critics but lost. In sports, the combination of cheating and arrogance is the most lethal one.
  17. I think its great that St. Louis is about to win the National League. Last year when Pujols left for California, Tony LaRussa retired, and then they gave the manager's job to a guy who have never managed a single game, who would have dreamed they'd be here this year. A testament to a well run organization. What a great match up it will be against the line-up Detrot has. Should be a classic!
  18. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" -The Tokens
  19. It's because we're gentlemen here. Some of us 'Southern Gentlemen', some are gentlemen from other areas, but all gentlemen just the same.
