  1. Lovely guitar GA, odd pups. How about a report on them please when your ready? And the push/push selection as well. Interested to hear.
  2. Ok Steve, you've got us all in suspense, so....what happened?
  3. Interesting little insight from the man himself...
  4. One of the original "Three Kings". RIP mate.
  5. I re-puped one of my strats once using a hot overwound TexMex in the bridge, and the mid and neck was N3 Noiseless, and I had to do the same thing. Had to use those green rubber tubes to stiffen it up a bit. Must be something about them....
  6. One of my main 'go to' gits is an ebony custom which I bought off a collector in Texas. A bloke who in fact has never played a guitar in his life and has no desire to do so as he told me. (wtf?...lol). Nice enough guy, just couldn't figure him out.
  7. What else could it be Tom? Ok, a worker on a late Friday afternoon has a slip up and something gets through. But it's QC's job after that part of the process (and periodically through the process) to make sure it doesn't get past end manufacturing and through to distributing. But I'm begining to think that maybe QC isn't the problem. Maybe the manufacturers have let their tolerances out so far that the problem is right there instead. QC knows this, checks evrything is still within these (sloppy) tolerances, and lets them through to the distributer. The new owner recieves it, sees, feels, and hears the problems, and goes WTF? I'm begining to think more and more along this line.
  8. prefer the dobermans come in and throw a padlock on? maybe hand out red cards? lol
  9. Great to see, good on her. Charles and one of his lads were at Gallipoli this morning. Sitting here sipping my tea. Queen and Country.
  10. My apologies Ian, yes, our British brethren were right there with us, as well as Canadians, French, British India, Newfoundland and Ireland. Quite a mix really. Marches went well here back home. I trust everybody else's day went well.
  11. Without a doubt, his finest work right here. I still play this one. Just blows me away. If anyone wants a TB but doesn't want to mess around with the Heil system and a preamp and all, Dunlop have put out a pedal that's pretty good too. Its the MXR222. Not too pricey either.
  12. LOL! No damn it!, but speaking of which... The band I occassionaly play with, well our rhythm guitarist is in his late fourties, divorced, a very good looking colt, and very popular with the ladies. Very popular! In his gig bag, along with the usual guitar related gear, he usually has a complete change of clothes, underwear and all. Has been caught short before onstage when a drizzly rain starts up. So, if it was me, it would be a slide, some patch cables, or some picks that go missing. Not him! The thieves pinch his underwear out of his gig bag (lol). And just his underwear, nothing else! Has happened several times (he gets a good ribbing over that). we usually tell him the culprit is the big hairy roadie in charge of the amps (lol).
  13. Yeah, he sure loves that TCE Nova pedal eh. Reckon he'd be lost without it (lol).
  14. Thank you one and all for your thoughts, sentiments, and respect. Much appreciated, thank you again. "They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them."
  15. Hey Riff, what colour she going to be mate?Love V's.
  16. I have recently in the last few years changed my gauge, manufacturer and supplier. After decades of being a D'Addario 8-38 player I now play a custom gauge made by a very good English company called RotoSound, and supplied by a mob called Just Strings. Might want to check them out, from what I can tell, they carry just about evrything. Might find yours in there.
  17. LOL! Thanks mate Was going to reply but I don't think I need to now Spot on...
  18. I tried the Stetsbar trem system on my Flying V and unfortunately it didn't work. Can't get the bridge anywhere near low enough for a correct action. Way too high. Pity, they're a good, solid system. Someone else posted about the Scheller trem for his LP and I saw it and just thought, if that would fit, post to post, then it just might do the job. And also for the V maybe.
  19. It's the day our nation stops to remember those who served, and died in all wars. The legend started out in the First World War off the Turkish coast at a place called Gallipoli. Servicemen of both Australian and New Zealand forces fought and died there. The acronym ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. It's a very big deal down here, in both Australia and across the Tasman with our New Zealand brothers.Especially this year because it marks the 100th year since Gallipoli. 'At the going down of the sun and in the morning...'
