  1. I have a couple of older 70's Les Pauls that have had the necks nitrocellulose actually bleed onto the binding. I know this is a little bit different, but I was able to cure this by exposing the "pink areas" to sunlight. I guess it is equivalent to a quick sun bleaching. But if you try it, be careful not to let it get too hot and remember to cover the fretboard and pickups with a blanket, or something, to deter warping and potting wax from melting. Not sure how your guitar was painted though, and that might have something to do with it, as Gibson is using different paints these days.
  2. It is nice to know that there are still some good people out there in the world! In this economy it seems like every little bit helps, and maybe he will need something from you one day. For example, maybe you know how to work on cars and he is having trouble adjusting the idle on an older car, or is getting a "fault code" on his newer car, and does not know what it means. Glad everything worked out for you, and your guitar is playing better now.
  3. I agree on contacting Roy at RS Guitars. Different Gibson Les Pauls can actually use one or the other, ie. some use the short shaft and some use long shaft. I cannot see you picture well, but it appears to be a more recent version that would probably need short shaft pots, but Roy will know for sure.
  4. I am actually getting ready to sell mine, so I have some pics available that I just took this afternoon, if that would help. (NOT SPAMMING THIS THREAD!) 2005 Masterbuilt Gibson J45 Rosewood
  5. Yes, I am a big fan of the Dirty Fingers pickups, but I cannot imagine trying to pair it up with an Invader. Try to find a matching DF neck pickup to put in there, and they will sound GREAT together!
  6. Yeah, I am a huge Kramer fan. And want to find some decent replacements for the ones I sold in the late 80's (Nightswan and Barreta) Sold them to pay my long distance phone bills when I got rid of my roommates and moved into my first apartment, by myself. And now you can get "unlimited long distance" on a cellphone for $10-$20 !
