  1. Hi Jim.

    I am still breathing.

Hope you are OK.Long time no contact.

Sad to note HMV shops under threat.I use CDs and not into this streaming carry on.

    Chris Campbell.

  2. I AGREE HE WAS A GREAT PLAYER. I AM TOLD HE LEARNED TO PLAY GUITAR WHEN HE WAS IN PRISON USING A CHEAP GUITAR.HE WAS GIVEN HIS FIRST PROFESSIONAL GIBSON GUITAR (an ES 175?) BY A FRIEND WHO RECOGNISED HIS PLAYING POTENTIAL. IS THIS TRUE? CHRIS.
  3. Fender Twin Reverb Valve or Roland JC120 Transistor variants if you want clear clean sounds at low and medium volumes. Make sure for home use there is very low or nil hum originating from the amp at low volume levels otherwise close your wallet. That is my view for what it is worth. Yes, there are many other great amps from other great manufactures to consider so take your time choosing. Chris.
  4. HOPE GIBSON TEAM LISTEN TO THEIR CUSTOMERS REGARDING PRODUCTS AND SERVICES. HOPE GIBSON STAYS'MADE IN AMERICA' HOPE GIBSON SUCCEEDS. CHRIS, SCOTLAND.
  5. I did not know that. I hear Otis Rush died recently too. Sad news that keeps on coming these days. Chris Campbell.
  6. Hi Rab. Thanks for your reply. My TV Yellow Melody Maker has hardly been out of its soft carry bag. Just handling the guitar can cause scuffs and marks. I like the guitar, but surely the 'finish' standard is not what is expected from the Gibson stable. Rory would have melted it after just a couple of gigs. Chris.
  7. Thanks for your reply Rab re the finish on my Melody Maker.

    Christopher Campbell.

  8. I have a Melody Maker Les Paul 2014 Anniversary model. It is a 'low budget' guitar and being a Gibson I should not complain. However, the matt 'TV' yellow finish is so delicate that even after very little use it is showing scuffing and wear marks on the body. Is it just my guitar or are other owners experiencing this? Chris.
  9. I agree to the extent that trying to download an image is a nightmare and being an 'oldie' I find the website far too complex. Also,I refuse to LinkIn,Facebook,Youtube etc., Internet bank. Anyway, am a Gibson fanatic and considering buying a 3D printer ( or is it a 5G printer ?) to create a 335 in cherry red with block inlays.Any tips from the forum members would be appreciated. Chris, Scotland.
  10. What do you think about the B J Armstrong Special Edition Les Paul Junior in terms of looks, price and Gibson's future fortunes by producing such items? C.
  11. What do you think about the B J Armstrong Special Edition Les Laul Junior in terms of looks, price and Gibson's future fortunes by producing such items? C.
  12. I have an ES 175 D Norlin from 1979 with the neck volute. It is unusual as the sunburst finish is not just on the top but back and sides too. The guitar has had had a somewhat hard life but I would not part with it as it is such a lovely instrument to look at and play. Chris.
