  1. Ha... Couldn't agree more...
  2. I spotted this. What a line up.. On in California somewhere ... Anyone on here gonna go.. Its a bit far for me to drive 😄 Power Trip
  3. There is new stuff happening, its just that we are all too old and set in our ways to appreciate it.. And younger people I have seen are in to both new and old... My 15 year old niece is in to Queen, Nirvana, David Bowie and all sorts.. She also likes the Gorillaz, Arctic Monkeys and Taylor Swift. So go figure??? She is also learning to play guitar and also has an ever growing vinyl collection. Theres also that band Polyphia who I think are really boring but at least they are doing their own thing and they seem to have quite a big following. The world, our culture and society are constantly changing. Keeping up with it is impossible for me and I have no desire to do so anyway. Im happy with the stuff I like. I do try to be open minded (remember the Ren thread). But a lot of it just doesnt appeal to me or it seems us old rocker types... But then theres nothing wrong with that, theres no right or wrong here just what you like and what you dont like. According to my mum for instance good music stopped in the 60s.. But I know thats not true even if I love 60s music. Finding new music has been much harder since MTV but it is out there if you look hard enough and can be open minded enough for new music not to sound like the music you do like.
  4. Hmm, man that was a long time ago now. I was busy with my guitars sadly. I did have a moment to have a quick look about the show. I kinda remember seeing him about but didnt actually meet him.
  5. Mostly Studios have a more shiny finish than the Trubites which have what is called a worn or faded finish. The guitars themselves are much the same. So if you dont mind a non shiny finish the Tribute is a good choice. Always the best advice is to go and try them both and see which one feels and or sounds better to you and go with that regardless of looks as thats way more important. I have a 2011 60s Tribute Studio which I love as much as my Standard or Classic.. Goldtop is a great finish to go for if you can find one. This is mine, its light and very fun to play.
  6. Whitesnake guitarist Bernie Marsden dies aged 72 | Music | The Guardian Whitesnake guitarist Bernie Marsden dies aged 72 Rock and blues guitarist amassed one of the most extensive and coveted private guitar collections in the world Adrian Horton @adrian_horton Fri 25 Aug 2023 17.49 BST Bernie Marsden, original guitarist for the band Whitesnake, has died, according to a statement from his family. He was 72. Marsden “died peacefully on Thursday evening with his wife, Fran, and daughters, Charlotte and Olivia, by his side”, his family wrote on Instagram. “Bernie never lost his passion for music, writing and recording new songs until the end.” One of the UK’s foremost rock and blues guitarists, Marsden wrote or co-wrote several of Whitesnake’s hit songs, including Fool for Your Loving, She’s a Woman, Walking in the Shadow of the Blues, Trouble and the international chart-topper Here I Go Again. Born in Buckingham in 1951, Marsden got his start with the rock band UFO in 1972. After stints in several bands and a short-lived project with former Deep Purple members called Paice Ashton Lord, Marsden created Whitesnake in London in 1978 along with the former Deep Purple singer David Coverdale and the guitarist Micky Moody. Marsden performed on the first EP, five albums and a live album, from Snakebite (1978) through Saints & Sinners (1982). He also released two solo albums during this period, And About Time Too (1979) and Look at Me Now (1981). Marsden was well known for his extensive and coveted private guitar collection, which included more than 200 pieces. In June, one of his jewels, a 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard known as “The Beast” was briefly put up for sale with a price tag exceeding $1.3m. On Friday morning, his former Whitesnake bandmate Coverdale paid tribute to Marsden on social media. “I’ve just woken up to the awful news that my old friend and former Snake Bernie Marsden has passed,” he wrote on Twitter. “My sincere thoughts and prayers to his beloved family, friends and fans. A genuinely funny, gifted man, whom I was honored to know and share a stage with.
  7. Thats not Izzy.. His name is Richard Fortus.
  8. For such a big band with such a history and it being so long since they released anything, I was expecting better. Even Slash's own band have better riffs and solos than this. Just not that rocking for a hard rock band.. Didnt hate it mind you. Just a bit nothingy.
  9. The only one I know is the Big Muff Pi... Also theres the guitars controls.. Turn the tone knob down, add some fuzz and that will get you most of the way there. This is worth a watch.
  10. There is no specific guitar for that.. Most of that is going to come more down to the amp and effects you use.. For the guitar, playability has to be the highest consideration... Any Gibson will get you there...
  11. Oh yeah.. Forgot about this thread.. What happened @duane v or did I miss a NGD thread?

  14. Could be a low cut nut maybe? If the strings are all the way in to the nut slots or even lower it can cause buzzing.
  15. Yes. I also think we are on the verge of a huge leap in technology... Power is one thing I see videos about.. Solid state batteries, nuclear batteries, nuclear fusion at room based temperatures.. Theres also as said AI and robotics that have taken small leaps forward. Also quantum computing.. Flying cars. Man can you imagine.. They have been working on those for ages, but how that would ever be safe I dont know.. Its bad enough with loads of fast moving vehicles on the ground. Just, not ready for that yet I dont think. But yeah, the future is almost here 🙂
  16. Aww.. Very cute... I wish I were in a position to have a pet.. But living alone and in a small flat next to a busy road its just not right... One day maybe.
  17. I also remember trying one out, might have even been the Midtown.. Cant remember now. But when I did I had that black residue o my fingers that some people talked about.. Which put me right off but it may just have been left over from sanding and not being cleaned properly.. Donno.. Either way we have various other real wood substitutes now.. Like this https://www.rocklite.co.uk/ Also from what I know Bob Taylor is the only place to get real legal Ebony now... Yes.. After the government raids and confiscation of all their Rosewood Gibson had to resort to using laminated two pieces boards while it was all being sorted out.
  18. Its no longer listed.. And its just gone, no sold sign... Some are saying Joe B is gonna buy it as he apparently borrows it whenever he is in the country... Either that or it was just there to help advertise the listing maybe?????

    Solstice

Not all the time but A LOT... And when its not raining its usually dull and grey... So yeah, the rare bit of summer we get each year is precious. Also depends where you are.. Apparently it rains even more in Scotland.

    Solstice

Well thankfully the weather is awesome over here at the moment.. Quite rare.. Lovely blue skies, temps of about 27 degrees C (about 80F) and a nice cool breeze.. Just doesnt get better.. Perfect summer weather.. Last year it went up to 40 degrees. Hopefully it just stays like it is, that was way too much.
  21. Or one artist signature LP Custom 😄
