  1. Fripp is one of those geniuses that are as rare as hens teeth, innovative, creative influential, He is all of that, but much much more, He has stayed true to his own vision, uncompromising fluidity, always seeking the next level, but that level isn’t defined by producers or the record labels, in that way, I place him in the rarefied atmospheric realm of Coltrane, Miles Davis, Monk.Musicians who defined their music but were never defined or restricted by it.
  2. 500 years? Time goes by so quickly, seems like yesterday,
  3. I wonder what his set up was, what strings, amp etc.
  4. He needs no introduction
  5. Mr. Eddy inspired a whole lotta players in Rockabilly, Country and crossover rock, he was one of the first Rock Guitar Heroes! Happy Birthday Duane!
  6. Previn was incredibly versatile, He tends to be pigeonholed as a classical artist, but he was so much more.Mundell started out on the Grand Old Opera before WWII, he was just a kid, he met John Hammond when he was in the Army Band on Guadalcanal, after the war the two started working together, he played with Doc Seversen. Billy Holliday, Ella, Ellington, the list goes on and on, so many movies sound scores, TV shows, Hawaii 50, that was him playing, the Wild Wild West, his work with Benny Goodman. But he also played a roll in reigniting Roy Buchanan’s career.
  7. This was produced by Arlen Roth towards the end of Mundell’s career, recoded at Stanford University.
  8. Silky smooth phrasing, dang he was good!
  9. In 1970 I had the opportunity to attend a clinic put on by Mundell, at the time I was focused on percussion and just getting into guitar.Tonight I was YouTubing and ran across this recoding from his early years, He was light years ahead of everyone at the time,
  10. Sounds like they are legit! I may attempt a partscaster project!
  11. i ran across this website after checking out Slick Guitars on YouTube, They have some pretty good reviews, pedals, parts, etc. https://www.guitarfetish.com/
  12. Tx-ogre,

Thanks for adding me too! I enjoy the forum very much and learn something new all the time.

  13. I heard the same thing, the other members of the Stones had pretty much had it with his bs. Charlie Watts in particular was feed up with him.
  14. I just like Morrisons voice, never really wanted to psychoanalysis him. He was a rock n roller who made some good music and died young. That list is long.
  15. Brian Jones also died on July 3, in 1969, but who cares if he was a asshole....tough crowd.
  16. Jim Morrison died July 3, 1971, I was driving my girl friends VW bug driving her to work when the announcement was broadcast over the radio.
