  1. Love it. Song for a slope fer sure- doesn’t get in the way of the great lyrics.
  2. I used to always always throw the package label of new strings into the accessory bin of the newly strung guitar. But, I am getting old and forgetful. I am a big fan of Sunbeams on my J45, but on my J35 I found a bit more of something switching to Thomastik-Infeld. Yep, the expensive ones. But I play em for a year. Love them as they age. Currently there is a set of Martin strings on the guitar that are dead. On my roll top desk there are two labels. One for Spectrum and one for Plectrum. I remember trying both and greatly preferring one over the other, but can’t remember which flavor I preferred. I like a raw sound over soft and warm. which did I like ???? help an old man out.
  3. outstanding video - new factory and all. Makes my appreciation for these instruments skyrocket.
  4. https://www.philadelphialuthiertools.com/acoustic-parts/replacement-adjustable-bone-saddle-for-gibson-acoustic-guitars/ this might help. The bone will make a difference.
  5. I second Pano tuner. Easy, accurate and free
  6. Love that Smeck - what a powerhouse- seems like if you breathe on it the tone will vibrate out of it. Nice memory.
  7. JB playing an old LG2. Makes me wonder where all the 12 fret Jackson Browne models have gone? Sorta wish I still had mine.
  8. Sad song, and so true. That is a powerhouse of a guitar- man oh man - made my chest rattle even through the wimpy iPhone speaker. Don’t ever get rid of that monster.
  9. Outstanding - that J45 shows why its perfect for stuff like this - Love it.
  10. That j45 was in its element - nice.
  11. That little arrow thing will take you to pics and a post
  12. Maybe you lounge hanger outers could help with the LP ?s
  13. Guitar I sold years ago and reaquired. The studio said they made no changes but I think they did. I am not an electric guitar guy by far- but this played spectacularly when I sold it, now it’s just mediocre. SN 91811441 (near as my eyes can tell) mid this nut authentic I thought it was white bone. does this bridge look right for an 86 Standard looks weird to me Any help appreciated
  14. Montana - Big Sky State - and Mountains. nothing more than that
  15. How much money and time are you willing to spend? Get a top notch builder - remove the original neck and save it. Have a new neck made to your specs. I am doing this to an outrageously great Martin Authentic. I prefer big necks, but the new neck has a very slightly off center soft v towards the thumb side, while the old neck seems thin, flat, but wide and drives me nuts. But it ain’t cheap.
  16. Love it ! Hate the song, but loved hearing you bang it out on a twelver. Nice harmony pedal - what is it ?
  17. There are two sides to this equation. While the manufacturing costs go up - material, labor, all costs of production - the consumption side of the music business is broken. Artists get laughably little income from streaming - physical sales of CDs, vinyl and the like are tough. - Seems to me you tour, or go broke. House concerts, music venues, and the like. And perhaps biggest of all is figuring out how to produce, promote and monetize your presence on the internet - building engagements and followers and the related advertiser clicks. If folks on Tic-Tok / YouTube can generate 5 figure incomes from the videos they post, performing artists need to figure out how to play the game. I don't know how, but its a wholly different world. Guitar manufacturers make their dough selling to working stiffs like me - hundreds of thousands of us - and we tend to pay attention to instrument brands and models that our favorite artists play. But the competition for endorsement deals is probably unrealistic for most working artists - but perhaps there's room for a true artists discount - after all, I think that's where the best promotion of an instrument brand comes from. Complicated.
  18. Very desirable 2010 model Advanced Jumbo Luthiers Choice 1.75 neck, long thru saddle, label signed by master luthier Ren Ferguson. Value probably around $4,000 + if it’s in good shape.
