It has not been easy, especially when I could have easily bought it 1 day before instead I dragged my feet and took a couple of days to make the final decision and pull the trigger.
It reminds me of the song title " It Serves You Right to Suffer"

Mine is on its way, sadly it already arrived to Nashville but it is sitting on the UPS warehouse to be delivered on Monday.
Here are pics from Mark's Guitar Loft.

A pupil turned up the other week with a make called Signature by Gibson.
Has anyone heard of these?
Matt
They sell them in retail department stores here in the USA, some electronics stores carry them as well.

All Gibson pickups are already waxed, there is a further step that you can take to put wax between the cover and the pickup but you do not have to.
When installing covers on a Gibson:
1-For proper fit buy Gibson covers, find out if you have a chrome or nickel bridge and buy the matching covers.
2-There are 2 sizes, bridge and neck.
3-measure the distance between the screws on the pickups, if they are the same you need to order 2 neck covers, if the screws have different spacing from one pickup to the other then order 1 bridge and 1 neck.
4-you can just snap them on but soldering is recommended.

Collectors have their place, some have saved some instruments from getting hacked by musicians or played to death in a shitty bar somewhere.
Some collectors actually lend pieces of their collection for special performances.
Some studios own classic instruments and rent them for recordings, including original bursts.
Hard to say what will be collectible in the future but nothing like the phenomenon of the late 50's Gibsons.
Look at this 1952 Les Paul for sale locally, even with the original case only asking $16,000, after 57 years.

Hey Neo, '59 bursts with a bigsby are rare but there are a few out there.
The one Keith Richards used in the 60's had a bigsby, several guitar books have pics of different ones and a few have poped up on eBay.
Some have taken the bigsby off and replaced it with a stop bar.

The brand "Hercules" claims to be nitro safe. Available everywhere. Good quality stands too, they actually sell them at the Gibson showcase here in Nashville.

Yea man the VM is like the lesser pretty girlfriend of the Standard that has a hot body and tons of personality, like the cute girl next door that you wanna have sexy time with.
Here is mine.

There is no tour of the actual Gibson plant here in Nashville though, I have driven by Massman Drive and know where the headquarters are and all of that stuff but the only tour you get in Nashville is the Opry Mills mandolin/dobro manufacturing right? has something changed?

Raptor I have a set of those as well the round ones as opposed to the pick shaped dunlops but I do not know the brand so I could not find a picture/link.
I bought the round ones at Gruhn but hey seem to be an off brand, the dunlop version seems sturdier but I definitely like the round shape with the slot much better.

This is what I use, probably the cheapest of all...

They fit right on top of the strap, just a twist and they are good to go.
I use a carving leather strap and they fit fine over it but if you use one of those super padded straps it may not.

So I went to a Chinese restaurant here in town and the fortune in my cookie reads: A small lucky package is on its way to you soon" just when I was getting over having to wait for my guitar...
