I tried a thin finish gibson, hated the bumpy unsanded finish, dont mind the VOS finish on les pauls so hopefully its more like that. Anyone try the new 42 j45? there are a few at dealers now, the neck sounds perfect, wonder if its more like true vintage bracing or legend bracing?

Hey guys, does anyone on here know what would be the most accurate pickguard color/material for a ~1950 j45? And what thickness they would have been? I realize it should be celluloid nitrate, and some kind of tort, but Im not sure what is replacement or not, seen red tort dark tort, even firestripe on some 51 SJ's!
