  1. I don't believe anyone can hear if a Les Paul has the 9 holes or is so called solid. The Chambered/Modern Weight Relieved may sound a bit more hollow when played acoustically. Wonder how solid any Les Paul is really! You got the toggle switch cavity, the neck fit cavity, the cable cavity, the pickup cavities and the control cavity. Maybe some believe they can. If i sit down in a store and play a bunch of Les Pauls they all differ even if made the same. If a guitar sounds good does it matter how it's made?! A guitar builder made two guitars out of the same piece of wood and they sounded very different. It's the sum of all parts not just little things.

  3. I think plugged in to an amp the difference is quite minimal. Each guitar despite model will sound different anyway. Watch this.
  4. Does anybody know if Joel Hoekstras Customs with the Whitesnake medallion is like regular Customs or Historic? Do they have Richlite or Ebony fingerboards?

    Neck tenon

Does Gibson USA still use the short neck tenon on the Standards and Traditionals?
  6. Great! And it was just guitar into amp and loud? Do some more with other Marshalls like the SL-X, 6100 and DSL.
  7. Is the Custombuckers with Alnico III on my Custom Shop 2012 Les Paul R9 Factory Darkburst the same as the Custombuckers on the Custom Shop 2013/2014 R9 Les Pauls
  8. Is the Gibson Les Paul Traditional 2014 still solid and not weight relieved? Is the body Always made of two pieces joined together?
  9. Thanks a lot! I originally wanted an Iced Tea Burst but they had no in stock. But now i Think i kind of like the Washed Cherry color. The original Bursts were cherry colored. There were no Iced Teas back then. W If you must do a refret in the future will it affect that? Will affect the tone of the guitar?
  10. I got a 2012 R9 Factory Burst Darkburst and it sounds great. It sounds a bit different to my 2014 R9 but you can´t say it´s because of the two piece fretboard. Every Les Paul sounds a bit different.
  11. I wonder what is the difference between Herritage Cherry Sunburst and Washed Cherry Sunburst? I Wish there was a page with Custom Shop Gibson Les Pauls where you could compare the Burst colors. Often they don´t look on Picture like they do in real Life. It´s hard to take a Picture of a Burst. Often the color sort of bleeds so the red for instance looks more reddish and wider than it really is. I also got a Factory Burst Darkburst that i bought in 2012. It´s got the infamous two piece Rosewood fretboard i guess. Since you can´t see it you can never be sure. But according to Gibson it has it.
  12. The Custombuckers on the Dark burst is just amazing sounding. A little bit hotter than the Burstbuckers i believe.
  13. Not so good pictures from my Iphone but here it is.
