  1. the burstbucker 1/2 are actually more vintage correct in that they have an uneven number of windings. it is those extra windings that give the BBs that little edge that i like. the 57s are good, but they dont do it for me. i havent played the 57 plus though

  2. i dont think he jumped all over you. but you are both right. it really just depends on the year and the model. most historics made in the last 5 years have the BBs. but i have also seen new R8s with 57 classics when they are supposed to have BBs.

  3. Is it a new guitar or new case where the glue could be uncured or ??? I've never seen that in recent cases I had seen older cases bleed color if wet especially the pink cases onto light colored guitars but not what your describing.

    +1

i have seen the old 90s case bleed into white guitars.

only think i can think of is maybe humidity? sounds too stupid and obvious to be right though....

  4. keep in mind that Jimmy Page washed his hands of the guitar you speak of.

i love the way my Classic looks, but i dont like the way it sounds. the PUs are too harsh and grating for my ears. I like more vintage sounds from a LP, which is why I like the BB Pros. For heavier stuff, I have my LP Studio and SG with the 490/498 combo.
