  1. Yeah, thanks. It was a cool show. Actually it was a celebration for sobriety. Carlos has been sober for 26 years. Many of the musicians who performed at this years event are from successful bands who now live in the Los Angeles/Orange County area. They are also celebrating their recovery and still rocking. Laurie Morvan was a guest and performed Little Wing. She's grammy nominated this year for her latest blues album, Gravity. Laurie Morvan Little Wing
  2. Sorry about the quality of the videos, a learning experience for me if you will. His sound is off for the first half of Fire, but it gets dialed by time third Stone from the Sun starts. Be kind. It's my first time posting video on YouTube. Hope it inspires you to do great things today. Enjoy. Carlos Arroyo From Stone Free Star Spangled Banner and Purple Haze
  3. Welcome to our little slice of heaven.
  4. That's exactly the deal. I've been working on my groove and want to lay down some loops, but you have to be dead on. Plus figuring out the functionality of the unit. Half an hour a day should get me there soon.
  5. Boss Loopstation Finals. Nice. That was tastily done. Took a while to develop, but these things always do. Second place.😀
  6. Yeah, I picked up a TC Electronics Ditto Looper X2 today. It takes some getting used to and I'm sure the more I use it, the better I'll get. So anybody got one? What do you think about it? Thanks
  7. Oh yeah, the wine thing. Wife and I are wine aficionados. Fine wine Fridays are mandatory around here. Cheers.
  8. So what sort of hobbies do you have? I collect baseball and other sports related cards. Mostly baseball, but I have basketball and football in my collection too. I used to do shows, but those seem to have become not so popular anymore. It was once a good way to make an easy $500.00 on the weekend. It was also through these shows that I began collecting autographs too. I think I'm most proud of my Reggie Jackson, Nolan Ryan, and Derek Jeter baseball card collections and my Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant basketball collections.
  9. Home with the flu today. I've been battling it for about two weeks. Really loved the video. Such a catchy tune. Won't be long until it hits the LA News brotherman. Hope you're well.
  10. Spectacular. Won't be long until everybody in LAs singing along.
  11. We finally got a break from the rain (California) I BBQ's up some Tri-tip. The neighbors were all worked up over the smell of BBQ tonight.
  12. Yeah, I love that song. Been playing variations of that for some time now. Fogerty's initial discovery of the E7 main chord actually started as a lose jam at a gig. When CCR went to record it, Fogerty switched from Rickenbacker to a Gibson ES-175 (right in my wheelhouse). Here's the story behind the song. It's a great article. http://sites.google.com/site/theelectricbayou/songs/born-on-the-bayou
  13. Some Ford Mustangs that caught my eye.
  14. Just got back from the All Ford Car Show in town. I'll post some photos later. That's what we call a tease. :)
  15. I'm not even going to bother to spell check this post tonight. To many exotic car names. Over the past few days I've been fortunate enough to be on Hwy 101 in Monterey, San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties respectively. The Monterey Car Week and Concourse d'Elegance is going on this weekend and the highway has been filled with, Ford GTs, Lamborginnis, Ferraris, Mazarattis, Maclarens, Panteras, Porches and many other exotic, high performance sportscars. It's been eye candy for exotic cars all week long. I've been driving southbound and they've been going north. It's been amazing!!!! On Wednesday, I saw no less than 40 cars, and easily that many on Thursday too. The funny thing has been all of the Highway Patrolmen on the northbound side of the road. Sure they pulled a few over, but there was no way they were going to get them all. They couldn't put enough CHIP out on the road. It was really funny when I look back. All those exotic cars and no where near enough patrolmen. Futility I say. Utter futility. Anyway, just couldn't get over all the car porn out on the other side of the road this week. If you're in Cali, the southbound side of 101 is going to be very interesting Sunday. Probably the northbound for the SF Bay area folks.
  16. There's something about a classic car's vertical grill that just, well.... gives me a thrill! Thanks for that post Dave.
  17. The local newscast last night indicated that the show had over 250 cars entered in the event. For those of you over sees, car shows are a big thing in America. During the summer they really are popular. For you guys in Great Britain, here's what Americans do with your sporty little cars.
  18. Yeah Dennis, the Milennials have no use for this stuff. You have to be a Baby Boomer to appreciate the car culture we grew up with. I was born in '63. I remember all the times Dad took us to OCIR for the races. Think we even went to Lyons and Pomona for some too. Our local car club hosts this show every summer. I look forward to it.
  19. So that's a pretty good representation of the hot rods and sleds we saw today. I kind of regret not taking more pictures. There was a baddasz Volkswagen bus there all decked out for picnicking and trips to the beach. Probably cost you 60-75K these days. Of the two Oldsmobile 442s I saw, my son and I decided the blue convertible was by far the best. $39K was just too much for it though. Hope you enjoyed the car show.
