  1. The Olympic's have a long-standing tradition of including obscure sporting events:

    Tug o' War

Rope Climbing, keeping the rope theme going.

    Plunge for distance

    Obstacle Swimming

    Artistic Swimming

    Race Walking

and the most insane competition .... Pistol Dueling.

However, the Olympic competitions of Live Pigeon Shooting and Poodle Clipping were once the golden dreams of many during the 1900 Paris Olympics.

  2. Yeah, they're great guitars.

It's got me wanting an ES-355 now.  One with the F-holes.

Even though I tend to play my ES-175 or telecasters when practicing, on those occasions  when I break out Lucile I am always amazed at the playability and tone.

  3. I have to say that this guitar plays every bit as good as you would expect from a Custom Shop guitar.

It comes with the 490 pickups and just sounds AMAZING!

Notice there is no Gibson on the headstock?  Interesting huh.

    Here's Black Betty and Lucile.

  4. So after a prolonged sabbatical from the lounge, I've managed to make it back.  As Joe says, "Life's been good to me so far", but not without its trials and tribulations, blessings and rewards.

I have managed to improve my playing and understanding of the our beloved instrument of choice.  I've also added to my humble collection.

In the spring of last year there was an incredible Estate Auction in San Luis Obispo, CA, just a mere 40 miles up Hwy 101.  There were roughly 200 guitars and amps in the collection.  Some real rare items were up for auction too.  Check out Trogly's post on YouTube. And again here.

So my son had told me he wanted to get me a BB King for my birthday.  I told him how much they cost and how much he'd have to pay for one.  I told him I'd pay half and we set out to win the BB King  being offered on the Estate 360 Auction.  Happy to say that we won the day.  We were the high bid.

Here's a couple pictures of Lucile, a 2009 Custom Shop BB King.

Yeah, I know.  I'm Fulltone Fan for sure.

I own 10 pedals by Fulltone. I expect to get one more, the Supa-Wah pedal, before I really cool my jets and start putting my pedalboard together.

Not all of these will go on my pedalboard as I have others, but I imagine the Soul Bender, OCD, Full-Drive 3, Deja-Vibe and the Ranger Treble Boost will end up there.

Still, if you want to do Jimi Hendrix, the Deja Vibe, 69 Fuzz, Octafuzz and a good wah pedal  is what you'll need, so we'll see. It's a work in progress.

  6. Yeah, Matteo can play.  Many in the guitar community are starting to say he's the best.  That's a big statement for a kid not even 30.

He had an audience every time he played.  I was fortunate enough to catch him away just checking out the the vendors at NAMM.  He's very blessed.

  7. So I have an IMGUR account.

I used to know how to do this quite well.

    Now, not so good.

How do I post photos here.  I'm lost.  And before you refer me to the sticky on the first page, I've already been there.  Results, no bueno.

    Help me out please.

  8. I've used the Fulltone OCD overdrive for some time now.  I saw that Mike and Brad (Jackson Audio) had made a batch of OCD Ge pedals and have been wanting to pick one up.  So I did.  Fulltone had a special if you buy an OCD pedal, you get a free shirt.  You don't have to twist my arm, so I ordered one.  The Ge stands for germanium, as in germanium diodes.  I've been A/B'n the two and there is a slight difference.  The OCD V1 is a bit brighter in the midrange, where as the OCD Ge is slightly darker in the lower mids.  I can certainly hear the difference.

Anyway, I got the pedal and I like it.  That's what counts.  A good, quality overdrive that suits my taste.

  9. I've seen Trout quite a few times in concert.

He's signed albums and the such for me in the past.

This is a very good album.  Walter never disappoints. This last show I was able to get his set list.

Broken is in the key of A minor.  It's interesting because all of the songs on the set list had the key they were performed in.  I thought that was cool.

Walter still uses his Mesa Boogie MK IV with no pedals.  He plugs straight into the amp.

  10. Fulltone is back in business.
Before you start whining about micro aggressions and sniveling about Mike Fuller I just want to say I don’t give a hoot about your wokeass opinion.
These pedals are some of the best I’ve ever played. They do exactly what they are supposed to do and the build quality is top shelf.
if you use Fulltone pedals, what’s your favorite?

I have three, no four, that I love the most:

    OCD

    Deja Vibe

’69 Slight Return classic fuzz face

    Rangemaster Treble boost

  11. I went.

Spent four days there. I had a great time. Saw lots of amazing guitarists and other musicians.

Met some pedal builders too.  Since that was what I was looking for, I got to try a lot of different pedals.

Met Matteo Mancuso also.  Talk about an amazing guitarist.  Check out these videos.  Be sure and watch his right hand technique.  Simply out of this world.

  12. I think a lot of these tragic instances you all are describing are always up to interpretation, especially when the narrative is to someone's advantage.  It is a shame that someone's poor choices lead to such tragic outcomes, but what is even worse is when people start spouting off about racial, economic, social, political, religious, and environmental justice because it fits their narrative.
