  1. Whatever size the shaft of the tuner is, you can find replacements. I got mine at WDMusic. But, you still have to measure the shaft so that you will know which ones fit. WD Music
  2. RCT, What size is the shaft on Gibson tuners? I recently replaced 25+ year old Schallers that were 10mm with Tone pros Kluson type. I was assuming that all the tuners that bolt down on the top might be the same size.
  3. Take one out and measure it. I believe that much of the current (and older) stuff has a 10mm shaft. If so, you won't have to ream anything. Check out the stuff on the Tone Pros site for starters.
  4. Sorry about that. But, this closer look seems to show that there is some kind of red down on the control cavity. It almost looks like it was hand-painted in the cavity. I do see traces of yellow and red on the areas where the plates screw in. hard to say what the original color was from the pics. Also, the (newer?) finish on the body of the guitar looks to be very thin and I saw no checking. It almost looks as if someone did an oiled finish on it or a light coat of clear laquer. You do have a couple of LP Juniors that look original and I'll bet you will see that the ones with the cracked finish look significantly different. Just saying that those two should be worth a lot more when it comes time to sell them.
  5. Are you really colorblind or is that a joke?
  6. Sounds like your low sound is coming from some place other than the pickups. Someone else already suggested you might have a partial short somewhere. Try cleaning all of the connectors in your switch and your pots. If that doesn't work, you might have a problem with your PCB.
  7. I assume you can see some of the original color in the control cavity
  8. Hard to say. Possibly a refin. Has some newer parts.
  9. Are we talking about a guitar with a PCB setup or is it wired in the traditional way?
  10. Check the imprudence of both pickups, if they do not have similar readings, the bridge pup might be bad. Does it have a cover on it? Was anything spilled on it?
  11. Yeah, but, he's tuning down to C#. The guitar stays in tune when he tunes to E. Maybe he should be changing the gauge of his strings.
  12. If you said that it sounds "flawless" when you are in standard tuning I believe you may need to try lighter gauge strings if you are going that low. What gauge are you using now. Let's see if anyone else chimes in.
  13. You need to post some pics. It's probably not custom shop with that serial number.
  14. I assume that all the quick connect pickups are 4-wire? If so, that would be the only limitation. I ask because I also have a guitar with the quick connect pups.
  15. I would guess that if they don't offer it on their website, they don't have it for sale. It seems that they are only selling the ones that you have already mentioned. You could always rewire your guitar and get rid of that circuitboard and go to a more conventional wiring system and then put anything in there I would assume.
  16. This might be a problem with your intonation. A guitar that is tuned can sound fine until you hit a chord If the intonation is not correct. I've seen guitars in stores that have not been set up correctly and they sound terrible until the intonation is right. Also, if the nut is binding you will have problems. You might try checking for binding and lubricating the nut..
